1. This standard specifies the types of wire, classified according to the main performance.
2. The wire is subdivided on the grounds specified in paras.2.1−2.6.
2.1. The shape of the cross section:
round;
shaped profile;
square,
rectangular,
trapezoidal,
triangular,
hex,
oval
segment,
zetobraznoj,
incobrasa,
wedge-shaped,
periodic profile,
a special profile.

2.2. In the group:
The 1st group is less than 0.10 mm;
The 2nd group is from 0.10 to 0.20 mm;
3rd group: from 0.20 to 0.40 mm;
4-th group of from 0.40 to 0.80 mm;
5th group from 0.80 to 1.60 mm;
6-th group of from 1.60 to 4.00 mm;
7th group from 4.00 to 6.00 mm;
8 group from 6.00 to 8.00 mm incl.;
The 9th group in excess of 8.00 mm.
Notes:
1. The sizes of round wire and wire periodic profile determine the nominal diameter.
2. The dimensions of the shaped profile wire is determined by the maximum profile size.
2.3. The chemical composition of steel:
of mild steel with a mass fraction of carbon up to 0.25% incl.;
carbon steel with a mass fraction of carbon over 0,25%;
alloy steel;
of high-alloy steel;
alloys with specific properties (corrosion-resistant, heat-resistant, heat-resistant, precision).
2.4. For the ultimate processing of providing a predetermined complex of mechanical properties:
thermally processed:
annealed;
released;
hardened and tempered;
normalized;
patented;
released under tension (stabilized);
raw:
cold drawn;
cold-rolled;
drawn or hot worked (templatedata);
calibrated.
2.5. At sight surface:
no additional finishing of the surface after deformation (including wire with the remnants of technological coatings — copper, phosphate, borax, applied to the surface to prepare the metal to lug);
drawn after preliminary grinding, turning, or heavy duty intermediate size;
with special surface finish (by removing the surface layer):
polished,
polished,
etched;
covered:
with a metallic coating (galvanized, tinned, copper coated, brass coated, aluminized and other coatings),
with non-coated (coated with polymers, phosphatized and other coatings);
bright (heat-treated in a protective atmosphere);
oxidized (oxidized, thermally processed with the colors of annealing);
black (heat-treated, coated with oxide).
