Stainless square bar is used in industrial sector and civil-mechanical engineering. It is a semi-fabricate that is going to be processed into long products (for example into profiled metal-roll: beams, channel beams, skid bars).
Manufacture
Stainless blanket is cogged down by hot method on blooming-mill. Rolling mill cogs a product in one sitting up to 120 mm. There are needed 15−20 passes for final forming of product. At first, an ingot is heated up to 1200−1250°С. After this, it is put on blooming-mill. If necessary, the blanket is cut and horizontal and vertical rollers cog the blanket in sequence. After finishing of rolling, there are performed a grooving and final step of processing. Grooving can have high, extra and standard level of accuracy. Standard bar section made of stainless steel has a section up to 200 mm. If the section of product is bigger, it is marked as a special order. Final processing of stainless square bar can have skin-pass, speculum, brushed, or super-speculum surface. Standard length of final products usually constitutes 2000 mm. If there is a need, enterprises can make a cutting with another dimension. There can be also done an additional perforation of flat metal-roll and welding. Final step is packing in polyethylene protective film. Stainless products are stored under cover or in covered accommodation.
