These specifications establish common technical requirements for castings (cast billet) of copper alloys intended for the manufacture of parts by machining.

Additional requirements for castings and types of control are stipulated in normative-technical documentation, agreed between manufacturer and consumer in addition to these specifications.

In the manufacture of new types of castings and the changing technology of their production the manufacturer is obliged to manufacture a pilot batch of castings and conduct a comprehensive research.

According to the study consumer gives an opinion, which is the basis for their further production.

1. CLASSIFICATION

1.1. In mind to pour the castings are divided into

  • cast in sand form (the symbol «P»),
  • cast in the mold (the symbol «K»).

1.1.1. Casting cast in the mold stationary or centrifugal method, method of crystallization under piston pressure and the method of directional solidification.

1.2. Casting volume the acceptance tests are divided into three groups of control in accordance with OST1 90074−72.

1.3. The assignment to the appropriate group control is set by the designer of the product and indicated in the drawing of the casting.

2. THE DIMENSIONS OF CASTINGS

2.1. The shape, size of casting and machining allowances must comply with the requirements of the drawing, tailored OST1 41154−82.

2.2. In the drawing, the casting shall specify the following requirements:

  • grade
  • the size of the casting
  • the monitoring group
  • view casting
  • place marking
  • diagram for cutting test samples for all types of tests
  • the measuring location of hardness.

3. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

3.1. Chemical composition and mechanical properties of casting copper alloys should fit:

  • GOST 493−79 and OST1 90054−72 for bronze;
  • 17711−80 GOST and GOST 15527−70 for brass.

3.2. Castings are supplied in the cast condition without heat treatment and mechanical treatment.

3.3. Castings are supplied with the cut-off sprues, wyborami and feeders.

3.3.1. On the raw casting surface space trimming of sprues and feeders Vyborov should be ground flush with the surface of castings.

3.3.2. On the treated surface remains Vyborov runners and feeders can exceed the rates of allowances specified in the drawing for the casting of no more than 5 mm.

3.4. Surface of castings shall be clean and free from grit and other extraneous impurities.

3.5. On the surface of the rough casting defects are allowed if the depth defined by the reference sweep, it is not beyond the allowance for machining.

3.6. On the surface of the treated castings are not allowed defects in the form of discontinuity — Nikitiny, cracks, shrinkage rychlosti, metallic and non-metallic inclusions visible to the naked eye, and the porosity of diameter greater than 1 mm.

3.7. In structure of castings from alloys of БрСу6С12Ф (WB-23), Бр01С22, Brs30, Бр05С25, Brsu3n3c3s20f (WB-23НЦ), БрСу4Н5Ц3С20Ф (ВБр2) and БрСу3Н3Ц3С20КФ (WB-23НЦК) allowed the inclusion of lead the size of an average diameter of not more than 0.15 mm for the I-th, II-th and the PA groups, inspection of castings and not more than 0.20 mm for castings III-th the control group, assuming their even distribution.

3.8. On the surface of macrosections and rupture of control specimens cut from castings are not permitted blockages segregated spots and non-metallic inclusions.

Allowed individual gas shell in an amount of not more than 5 pieces with a diameter of not more than 1 mm each, with a minimum distance between them of 10 mm.

Permitted total porosity, but not more than 10 pores per 1 поверхности of macrolife, while the number of under 0.1 mm diameter up to at least 80%, and pores with a diameter of 0.2 mm — not more than 20%.

Allowed zonal porosity, but not more than 15 pores per 1 поверхности of macrolife, while the number of under 0.3 mm diameter — not less than 80% and pore diameter up to 0.5 mm — not more than 20%.

The zonal area of porosity shall not exceed 20% of controlled surface.

3.9. On the surface of macrosections and in the fractures of samples of castings from bronze brand Бр01СС2Н3 designed for diffusion welding with steel in a vacuum, are not allowed gas shells larger than 0.2 mm and segregated spots caused by liquation eutectoid и lead.

3.10. In fracture of the casting of tin bronze III group control allowed the heterogeneity in color, if this heterogeneity extends not more than 1/3 of the fracture surface.

4. ACCEPTANCE RULES

4.1. Cast billets supplied by parties consisting of one brand of alloy, one melting and one name.

4.1.1. Casting may consist of several heats in the case that the melting mass less than 100 kg, with each melting must be controlled in accordance with the requirements of this specification.

4.2. Control of chemical composition shall be subjected to each heat. The content of impurities is guaranteed by the manufacturer.

4.2.1. Selection and preparation of samples for determining the chemical composition of the alloy is carried out according to GOST 24231−80.

4.2.2. In case of unsatisfactory results of chemical analysis allowed the re-analysis. In case of unsatisfactory results, re-analysis heat is rejected.

4.3. The control surface shall be subjected to each casting.

4.4. The size control is subjected to each casting in accordance with drawing requirements.

4.5. Under the control of the mechanical properties of the castings of the I-th, II-th and the PA groups are determined by the control — rupture strength, hardness and elongation at the inspection of castings III-th group — determines the hardness.

4.6. Control of mechanical properties is carried out not less than one casting from each heat.

4.7. Control of mechanical properties of castings is carried out not less than 3 specimens cut from castings or separately cast samples from each heat.

4.8. Hardness control is performed on the heads of discontinuous samples in the same amount, which was selected for the tensile tests or templet cut from the castings.

4.9. By agreement of the parties allowed the definition of additional requirements to the quality of castings.

4.10. The number of castings under inspection to the density macrolife, fracture or by the method of x-raying established by agreement between manufacturer and user.

4.11. Testing for the presence of inclusions of lead in the casting of bronzes brands БрСу6С12Ф, Бр01С22, Brs30, Бр05С25, Brsu3n3c3s20f, БрСу4Н5Ц3С20Ф and БрСу3Н3Ц3С20КФ performed on the micro-sections. Results are unsatisfactory re-allowed control of the microstructure on the determination of the inclusions of lead.

4.12. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators, it conducted a re-test at twice the number of samples taken from other castings of this melting.

5. TEST METHODS

5.1. Control of the chemical composition of the castings is carried out according to GOST 1652.0−77, GOST 1652.13−77, GOST 1953.1−79, GOST 1953.17−79, GOST 15027.1−77, GOST 15027.14−77, GOST 15027.15−83, GOST 15027.16−86, GOST 15027.19−86.

5.2. Control the surface condition of the casting is carried out by visual inspection with the naked eye.

5.3. Dimensional control of castings is carried out measuring tools that provide required accuracy of measurement.

5.4. Form, sizes of samples for testing of mechanical properties and testing method should meet the requirements of GOST 1497−84.

5.5. Hardness control is carried out according to GOST 9012−59.

5.6. Control of the density (porosity) castings rentgenopozitivnye is carried out according to the instructions of PI 1.2.226−83 VIAM.

5.7. Control of the inclusions of lead is carried out by metallographic method using an optical microscope with magnification of at least 100 times.

5.8. Control of macrostructure of castings is carried out by fracture or by macrolife according to the method of the manufacturer.

Type of control established by agreement between manufacturer and user.

Allowed assessment of the density of the macrostructure according to the standards agreed between the manufacturer, consumer and VIAM.

6. LABELING AND PACKAGING

6.1. Adopted on each casting must be marked with indication of alloy grades, batch number, cipher casting and stamp of manufacturer quality control Department.

6.2. Castings are supplied in boxes or containers without preservatives

6.2.1. Weight of the Packed box must not exceed 100 kg.

6.3. Each box must be marked according to GOST 14192−77 with the manufacturer, user, batch number, symbols products, the net weight and gross.

6.4. Each batch of castings should be accompanied by a quality document, which States:

  • the name or trademark of the manufacturer;
  • the name of the consumer;
  • grade;
  • the control group of castings;
  • cipher castings;
  • batch number;
  • the number of castings and packing stations;
  • the weight of the batch;
  • the results of chemical analysis;
  • the results of all required tests;
  • the date of manufacture;
  • stamp of technical control Department;
  • the number of this specification.

7. TRANSPORTATION

7.1. Transportation of castings is carried out by all types of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with the «Rules of carriage of goods» applicable to transport of this form, the security requirements of GOST 12.3.069−76.

7.2. Stowage and securing of cargo in vehicles should be conducted in full compliance with the «Technical conditions of loading and fastening cargoes» adopted by this mode of transport.

8. STORAGE

8.1. Casting packaging should be stored in a dry heated rooms, protected from mechanical damage and action of active chemical agents.

9. THE MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY

9.1. Casting must be approved by technical control Department of the manufacturer.

The manufacturer guarantees the quality of castings to the requirements of these technical in the consumer observes rules of transportation and storage.
