Technical characteristics
Molybdenum foil is a final product flat of mill-products with thickness of up to 0.02 mm. It is made out of MCH grade that contains not less than 99.9% of Mo. This material becomes very malleable when heating. That is why foil rolling can be performed much thinner than aluminium. Molybdenum foil has not only high strength but flexible as well. It can easily take any shape. It is resistant to corrosion, to effect of chemical elements, solution of concentrated mineral acids and alkalis. Such foil is heat and hot resistant. It possesses biological inertness and safety, high thermostatic effect, low thermal coefficient. Molybdenum foil complies with the most rigorous standards. This makes it usable in any sphere of application. Molybdenum strip (foil) is always in stock. You can buy it for affordable copper strip price from supplier.

Demerits
Virtually the only one demerit is high self-cost of molybdenum foil, as long as molybdenum relates to rare-earth elements and it is hardly isolated in a pure state. Besides, it is refractory and hardly processed metal.
Manufacture
Molybdenum foil is manufactured according to technical conditions 48−19−245−84. It is made out of certificated high-quality molybdenum of 99.95% purity by «cold-hot» method on close control equipment. As long as hot molybdenum can easily react with atmospheric gasses, there are used the most modern technologies of chemical protection.
At first, there is obtained molybdenum billet with a help of powder metallurgy. Then, billet must be heated and hammered on forging rotary machine to the form of thin sheet. After hot drawing, there is obtained a hot molybdenum foil. After transformation of sheet into foil, rolling can continue at standard temperature. Foil has very smooth surface. Oxides are deleted with hot solution of caustic soda or by ignition (t° 1000°C) in hydrogen atmosphere. Manufacture of molybdenum wire

Application
Rapid development of modern robot technologies, instrument engineering, nuclear energetics, mechanical engineering, petrochemical industry, medicine increases demand for foil made out of refractory metals. Molybdenum strip, foil are used most often in:
- nuclear energetics;
- military-industrial complex;
- chemical industry;
- radioelectronics and electrical engineering;
- for manufacture of thermal screens, electric-vacuum devices.
