This standard applies to low-carbon quality wire used in the nodes of machines for the manufacture of parts and as a conductor in cables.
1. BASIC PARAMETERS AND DIMENSIONS
1.1. Wire produced:
uncoated — KS,
coated — galvanized KO.

1.2. Wire produced with a diameter from 0.5 to 6.0 mm; and the diameter limit deviations shall be as specified in table.1.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
2.1. Wire produced in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.
Wire made from low carbon steel according to GOST 1050.
2.2. Rupture strength for the wire diameter should not be less than:
390 N/mm(40 kgf/mm) for uncoated
360 N/mm(37 kgf/mm) for galvanized.
Note. In coordination with the consumer of wire without coating is produced with tensile 390−590 N/mm(40 to 60 kgf/mm).

2.3. The number of bends and twists depending on the wire diameter should not be less than specified in table.2.

2.4. On the surface of the wire are not allowed Rabina, rolled out the bubbles, sunsets, slivers, burrs, rust and risks of mechanical origin with a depth of more than 0.25 tolerance on the diameter.

2.5. In fracture of the wire should be free of cracks, laps, tears, bubbles and traces of shrinkage.
2.6. The zinc coating on the wire must be continuous, without gaps or cracks visible without using the magnifying devices.
On the surface of galvanized wire is not allowed places, not covered with zinc, local nodules of zinc greater than the plus tolerance on diameter (measured from the actual diameter of the wire) and also white patches if after its removal the wire can not withstand the test on the quality of the zinc coating.

2.7. Customer’s request wire to a conductor in cables made with test electrical resistivity. Electrical resistivity at 20 °C must not exceed 0,15·10Ohm·m (0.15 Ω·mm/m).

2.8. The zinc coating of the wire surface must be structurally sound. When coiling wire on a cylinder with a diameter equal to five times the diameter of the wire should not be peeling and cracking of the zinc coating.
2.9. The zinc coating shall withstand the number of dips in a solution of copper sulfate specified in table.3.
The samples should not be portions covered in copper, not coming down after wiping with cotton or cloth.
Allowed redness of the surface of tested wire at the site corresponding to the height of the solution level and at a distance of 20 mm from the immersed in the solution of end of the wire.

2.11. Wire is manufactured in coils. The winding of the wire should be in regular rows, without entanglement of the coils and to provide free winding wire coils.

2.12. Skein must consist of one segment. The minimum mass of a coil depending on wire diameter is specified in table.4.

3A. ACCEPTANCE RULES
3A.1. Wire take parties. The party should consist of wire of one type of surface, the same diameter, one grade of steel shall be furnished in one document about quality that contains:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
symbol wire;
the results of the tests;
the net weight, the batch number.

3A.2. Surface quality and diameter of the wire is checked for each reel.
3A.Z. To check the temporary tear resistance, number of bends and twists, the quality of zinc coating and the electrical resistivity are taken 5% of the skeins, but not less than three skeins.
3A.4. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators it is carried out re-tests on twice the number of skeins. The results of repeated tests spread to the entire party.

3. TEST METHODS
3.1. (Deleted, Rev. N 5).
3.2. The surface quality of the wire is checked visually without the use of magnifying devices. Wire diameter check micrometer according to GOST 6507 in two mutually perpendicular directions of the same cross-section in at least three areas of a coil. Mass of a coil check at the request of the consumer.
3.3. To control the temporary tear resistance, number of bends and twists, the quality of zinc coating and the electrical resistivity is taken one sample from each end of the strand.

3.4. Test wire tensile is produced according to GOST 10446.

3.5. Test the wire on the bend is produced according to GOST 1579.
3.6. Evaluation of the quality of the wire at the kink is produced on the samples stand the test of inflection, with the use of a magnifying glass no less than a fourfold increase.
3.7. Test wire torsion is produced according to GOST 1545.

3.9. The test of wire on the winding must be carried out according to GOST 10447. The number of turns in the winding should be at least 10.
3.10. Test wire on the quality of the zinc coating produced in a solution of copper sulphate. A solution is prepared from one part by weight of dry crystal of copper sulphate according to GOST 19347, five parts of distilled water, neutralized with freshly precipitated hydrate of copper oxide and filtered. The density of the filtered neutralized solution should be to 1,114 1,116 g/cm. The temperature of the solution must be (18±2) °C.
The test procedure: samples of wire length of 150 mm was washed and degreased in alcohol according to GOST 17299, OST 38.02386, benzene according to GOST 5955, petrol on the other 38.401−67−108 or live according to normative-technical documentation. If the samples are washed with petrol or benzene, we carried out additional washing with distilled water and wipe to remove moisture; samples immersed in a solution of copper sulphate to a depth of not less than 100 mm. After each immersion in the solution, samples were washed with distilled water and wipe with a clean cloth or cotton wool. The number of samples simultaneously immersed in the solution should not be more than six.
When tested, the samples shall be stationary, not in contact with each other and with the walls of the vessel.
In a volume of 200 cmof copper sulphate solution can be tested:
no more than 40 samples of wire with diameter 0.5−0.8 mm;
no more than 20 samples of wire diameter: 1.0−2.6 mm;
no more than 8 samples, the wire diameter 3.0−6.0 mm.

4. PACKING, MARKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
4.1. Each coil of wire shall be tied in at least three places with a soft wire according to GOST 3282 or other wire according to normative-technical documentation.
Coils of wire with a diameter of 0.5 mm should be wrapped with a layer of paper and Packed in wooden boxes type II according to GOST 18617 or metal container according to normative-technical documentation.
Coils of wire with a diameter of more than 0.5 mm should be wrapped with a layer of paper, then a layer of a polymeric film according to normative-technical documentation or non-woven materials, or woven fabrics of the chemical fibers. When mechanized packaging a coil of wire should be wrapped in a layer of paper according to GOST 10396 or paper brand CMS-170, or other creped paper, equal in protective properties, or a polymer film with simultaneous locking packaging wire according to GOST 3282, or another wire. Allowed wire with a diameter of 0.8 mm packaging in wooden boxes type II GOST 18617, inside lined with waterproof paper according to normative-technical documentation.
As a packaging material is used:
the waxed paper according to GOST 9569 (you may use a double layer of wrapping paper according to GOST 8828) or other paper according to normative-technical documentation;
the polymeric film according to GOST 10354 or GOST 16272, or other polymer film;
container holstoproshivny or laminated fabric, stitched ribbon from waste of textile industry, fabrics of chemical fibers according to normative-technical documentation and packaging fabric for technical purposes according to GOST 5530.
At the customer’s request weight per package should not exceed 80 kg.
Coils of wire of the same diameter is allowed to associate in the Bay.
Galvanized wire with a diameter of more than 1.0 mm are Packed on demand of the consumer.
Consolidation packages in overpacks carried out according to GOST 21650, GOST 24597.

4.2. To each of the coils of wire shall be securely attached a label, which indicate:
a) trademark of the manufacturer;
b) designation of wire;
C) the batch number.
The packaging of coils of wire in the box the data mentioned above, as well as the mass of the wire net is applied with paint on the side of the box.
