The technical data below describe a CuCd1-type cadmium bronze and its physical properties. Technical characteristics
CuCd1 is a heat-resisting copper alloy. This alloy relates to cadmium bronze. A manufacture of alloy is specified by GOST 18 175 - 78. The only one method of grade hardening is cold plastic deformation. Chemical composition: Cu (98.5 - 99.1%), Cd (0.9 - 1.2%), residual elements (0,3%). Chemical formula is CuCd1. Cadmium hardens copper. Its hardening effect appears in annealing and deformable condition (annealing temperature is 500 - 1000°C). Hardening effect increases at high stages of deformation (more than 80%). Hot working of material is done at temperature 680 - 900 °C. Alloy is smelted at a temperature of 1040 °C.

Application
High resistance to corrosion, perfect electrical conductivity, wearing quality allow using CuCd1 grade in manufacture of details for resistance welders and other details (motor commutators etc.).
