3A. ACCEPTANCE RULES
3A.1. Wire take parties. The party should consist of wire of the same steel grade, the same diameter and be issued a document about quality that contains:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
symbol wire;
the results of the tests;
the number of skeins or bays of the wire;
batch number.
3A.2. The wire diameter and surface quality check on each reel.
3A.3. To check the mechanical properties of wire and the quality of zinc coating from the party take 5% of the skeins, but not less than three skeins.
3A.4. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators it is carried out re-tests on twice the number of skeins.
The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.
Sec. 3A. (Added, Rev. N 2).
3. TEST METHODS
3.1. (Deleted, Rev. N 2).
3.1. To determine the mechanical properties of the wire, adhesion of the zinc coating to the steel core, the surface density of zinc take one sample from each controlled roll.
(Added, Rev. N 2).
3.2. The surface quality is checked visually.
3.3. Diameter and ovality of wire check with a micrometer according to GOST 6507 in two mutually perpendicular directions of the same cross-section in at least three areas of a coil.
3.2, 3.3. (Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
3.4. Test wire tensile is carried out according to GOST 10446.
3.5. Test the wire on the bend is carried out according to GOST 1579.
3.6. Test wire torsion is carried out according to GOST 1545.
3.7. The strength of the zinc coating is tested in accordance with the requirements of section 2.3 of this standard, the strength of its adhesion to the base metal — in GOST 10447.
3.8. Surface density of zinc wire determine the weight or volume-gasometrical method.
The weight method is used for very precise definitions and arbitration tests.
Length of the wire samples to determine the surface density of zinc weight or volume-gasometrical method must conform to the standards specified in table.4.
The samples are allowed to cut into any number of segments depending on the test conditions.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
3.8.1. Weight method
Removing the zinc coating with the weight method is carried out by dissolving the coating in an aqueous solution of the mixture of acids:
sulfuric (HSO) according to GOST 4204 — 100 g/DM,
salt (НCl) GOST-3118 — 34 g/DM
or in the inhibited solution of sulfuric acid prepared in the following manner: 2 g of antimony trioxide (SbO) or arsenic trioxide (AsO) is dissolved in 60 cmof hydrochloric acid density of 1.19 g/cm. The resulting solution was diluted in a volumetric flask with a capacity of 1 DMto the mark with sulfuric acid with a density of 1.05 g/cm(the mass concentration of 80 g/DM).
The bleed solution is replaced as it is exhaustion.
To determine the average surface density of zinc weight method performs the following steps:
a) take samples of wire, degreased in alcohol, gasoline or benzene, wipe with a clean cloth and weighed;
b) dissolve the zinc coating;
C) the samples are washed in cold water and wipe with a clean cloth to remove moisture;
g) weigh the samples and measure the actual diameter, then calculate the average surface density of zinc (), g/m, by the formula
,
where is the mass of the specimen of wire (or group of samples) before removing the coating, g;
— the mass of the wire specimen (or group of samples) after removing the coating, g;
— diameter of the wire specimen after the etching of the zinc coating.
Values and determine to the nearest 0.001 g with a precision up to 0.010 mm, the average surface density of zinc, up to 0.1 g/m.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2, 3)
.
3.8.2. Space-gasometrical method
Removing the zinc coating with three-gasometrical method produced dip samples of wire into the solution at a temperature of 18−20 °C until cessation of gas evolution.
The composition of the bleed solution is specified in claim
To determine the average surface density of zinc volumetric gasometrical method performs the following steps:
a) take samples of wire and measure actual length;
b) degreased wire samples in alcohol, benzene, or gasoline and wipe with a clean cloth;
C) dissolve the zinc coating, completely catching released when the hydrogen;
g) measure the volume of evolved hydrogen gas and bring him to normal conditions;
d) measure the actual diameter of the specimen, then calculate the average surface density of zinc (), g/m, by the formula
,
where is the volume of hydrogen at normal conditions (pressure of 760 mm Hg.St., temperature 0 °C), cm;
— diameter of the wire specimen after the etching of the zinc coating, mm;
— length of sample, mm.
The average surface density of zinc is calculated to the nearest 0.1 g/m.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
3.9, 3.10. (Deleted, Rev. N 2).
