This standard applies to steel alloy wire of circular cross section with special surface finish, without special surface finish, designed for the manufacture of springs exposed after coiling, heat treatment (hardening and tempering).

1. THE TYPES, BASIC PARAMETERS AND DIMENSIONS
1.1. Wire classification:
a) the method of manufacture and quality surface finishes on the group:
with special surface finish by removing the surface layer A, B, C, d, E;
no special surface finish — N;
b) for precision manufacturing:
normal accuracy;
high accuracy — P;
C) for the purpose:
for springs cold formed — XH;
for springs hot coiling — GN;
g) mechanical properties, decarburization, surface quality classes:
1st — for springs for critical applications;
2nd — for springs for General use.

1.2. The nominal diameter of the wire and limit deviation shall be as specified in table.1.

a) intermediate dimensions the limit deviations for the nearest large diameter;
b) the negative limit deviation is equal to the sum of the absolute values of bilateral deviations of the diameter specified in the table.1.

1.4. The roundness of the wire must not exceed half of the limit deviation for diameter.
1.5. Wire groups A, B, C, d must be manufactured with a diameter of 1.0−14.0 mm, wire group, N — diameter of 0.5−14.0 mm.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
2.1. Alloy steel spring wire must be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.

2.2. Wire shall be manufactured from steel grades 51HFA, 60S2A, 65S2VA, 70S3A churchyard 14959.
By agreement between manufacturer and consumer wire made of steel named brands electroslag remelting according to normative-technical documentation.

2.3. Surface quality depending on the group of wires shall be those specified in table.2.

Note. By agreement between the consumer and the manufacturer allowed some local defects of mechanical origin on the wire of the 2nd class of groups A, B, C in the form of dings, dents, scrapes, scratches should not be more than 0.01 mm for wire diameter from 1.0 to 3.0 mm and 0.02 mm for wire diameter from 3.2 to 14.0 mm.

2.4. On the surface of wire in groups A, B, C, d allowed the visible traces of the preceding treatment, provided that the surface finish standards of roughness.
On the surface of wire in groups E and H allowed the remnants of the technological lubricant and copper plating.
2.5. The requirement on the depth bezoperatsionnogo layer shall be as given in table.2A.

2.6. Wire for cold coiling springs with a diameter up to 6,0 mm inclusive shall not crack or delaminate after winding five turns around the stem, the diameter of which is equal to:
one diameter of the test wire for wire diameter up to 4.0 mm inclusive;
double the diameter of the tested wire — to-wire with a diameter of over 4.0 mm.
2.7. Rupture strength of the wire for cold coiling springs should be no more than 1030 N/mm(105 kgf/mm).
At the request of the consumer rupture strength wire of steel grade 51HFA should be no more than 780 N/mm(80 kgf/mm).
The run on time resistance to rupture in the party should be no more than:

2.8. Mechanical properties of wire of steel grade 51HFA on thermally treated samples must comply with:
rupture strength, kgf/mm, MPa, not less than 150 (1470)
the relative constriction after rupture, %, not less than 40

2.9. Wire groups A, B, C, d must be manufactured in bars. The rod length must meet the requirements of GOST 14955. By agreement with consumer it is permitted to manufacture bars and rods of greater length.
Rods wire needs to be straight. The local curvature of bars should not exceed 0,5 mm per 1 m length of the rod.
2.10. Wire groups E, H must be manufactured in reels.
Each coil of wire shall consist of one segment.
The mass of the segment of wire on a reel shall be as specified in table.3.

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES
3.1. Wire take parties. The party should consist of wire of the same brand, same trunks, same diameter, same group of surface finishing, single-precision manufacturing, one assignment and one class and must be issued a document about quality that contains:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
symbol wire;
the results of the tests;
chemical composition of steel;
the number of packages;
the weight of the party.
Instead of the results of the tests allowed to specify: «Products meet NTD».

3.2. Verification of dimensions and surface quality of wire is on each rod or reel.
3.3. To check the surface roughness, decarburization, strength and tests for a selected one winding wire (coil) from each of 200 kg of wire, but not less than four rods (coils) from the party.

3.4. Testing of mechanical properties of wire of steel grade 51HFA should be carried out on each cast.
3.5. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators it is carried out re-tests on twice the number of samples.
The results of repeated tests spread to the entire party.
4. TEST METHODS
4.1. To control the surface roughness, decarburization, temporary resistance tests winding from each of the selected rods (coils) cut off one sample. For testing of mechanical properties (heat treated samples) select five samples from melting.

4.2. Diameter and ovality of wire measured with a micrometer or other measuring instrument with an accuracy of up to 0.01 mm in two mutually perpendicular directions of the same cross section of not less than three places of each bar or coil.
4.3. The surface quality of wire should be checked with the naked eye, and if necessary with the use of magnifiers 5.
The depth of the defect is determined by the sweep. The location of the defect cleaned with sandpaper or a file with the subsequent comparative measurements of wire in the stripped and unstripped areas. Allowed to check the surface quality by nondestructive testing or other methods established by agreement with the consumer.
The surface quality of the wire length of 50 mm from the ends of the bar or coil is not checked.
4.4. The surface roughness of the wire check the profilers, profiling or optical devices.
The surface roughness of the wire of the 2nd class test in agreement with the consumer.
4.5. Depth bezoperatsionnogo layer is determined according to the method of M GOST 1763.
Depth bezoperatsionnogo layer of the wire in group E of class 2 and the group N of class 1 is determined by the requirement of the user.
4.6. Tensile wire experience according to GOST 10446. Wire of steel grade 51HFA diameter up to 2.00 mm relative constriction after rupture at the heat-treated samples determined. The control of the temporary rupture strength and relative contraction in the heat-treated samples of wire of the 2nd class of steel grades 51HFA carried out at the request of the consumer.
Control of mechanical properties of wire of steel grade 51HFA on thermally treated samples allowed to produce wire rod.
Heat treatment of samples of wire shall be conducted in the following mode: annealing at 840−860 °C, cooling in oil, leave in 370−420 °C for 30 min, Cooling in oil or in hot water.
For a wire diameter of less than 2,80 mm may reduce the tempering temperature of 360 °C.

4.7. The test of wire on the winding is carried out according to GOST 10447. Wire for cold coiling springs with a diameter of more than 6.0 up to 10.0 mm inclusive are subjected to the test winding by agreement with the consumer.
4.8. The curvature of the rod is determined in the following way: on a flat surface (table) stack the rods and roll them on the surface of the table: in this case between the rods throughout the length of the rod should be no gap visible to the naked eye, or the beating ends.
4.9. The chemical composition of the wire shall be certified by an accompanying document manufacturer of steel. According to customer’s demands chemical composition of the wire should be checked according to GOST 12344 — GOST and GOST 12352 12355 on a single sample from the party.
4.10. Weighing coils of wire and packages of party conduct on the scales, providing weighing accuracy to 1%.

5. PACKING, MARKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
5.1. Rods wire needs to be tied in bundles. Bars and rods wire of length 5.0 m and more can be rolled into coils. Coils of wire of the same brand, same diameter, same group of surface finishing, one precision and one destination is allowed to associate in the Bay.
5.2. Bundles, wire bundles (coils) of wire should be tied with soft wire or twine in at least three evenly spaced along the length or circumference.
5.3. Bundles, wire bundles (coils) of wire should be lubricated with a protective lubricant that protects against corrosion and does not cause clumping.
5.4. Hanks, bundles of wire should be wrapped with a layer of paper, then a layer of polymeric film or fabric.
In mechanised packing of rolls of barbed wire should be wrapped with a layer of paper 10396 churchyard or paper stamps KMV-170 according to normative-technical documentation or other crepe paper, equal in protective qualities, is made according to normative-technical documentation, or a polymer film.
Wire of diameter less than 3.0 mm, manufactured in bars, should be Packed in tight wooden boxes of the type II according to GOST 18617 or other normative and technical documentation, or other containers (metal, cardboard, plastic) is manufactured according to normative-technical documentation.
The quality of packaging materials used:
the waxed paper according to GOST 9569 allowed the use of double-layer wrapping paper according to GOST 8828, oiled paper of grade A according to GOST 8273 or other paper that protect the wire from corrosion, is made according to normative-technical documentation;
the polymeric film according to GOST 10354, 16272 GOST and other normative and technical documentation;
container holstoproshivny the canvas according to normative-technical documentation;
other types of packaging materials according to normative-technical documentation, precluding the use of fabrics made of natural fibers and does not deteriorate the quality of a stitched flap from the waste of the textile industry.

5.5. Transport marking under GOST 14192.
At the request of the consumer mass per package must not exceed 80 kg.
Consolidation packages in overpacks carried out according to GOST 21650, GOST 24597 and in accordance with the rules of carriage of goods approved by the relevant departments.

5.6. Each cargo should be attached a label on which shall indicate:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
symbol wire;
the room melt;
stamp of technical control.

5.9. Wire transporterowych covered all kinds of transport in accordance with cargo carriage regulations applicable to transport of this species.
Stowage and securing of cargo transported by rail, must comply with the technical conditions of loading and fastening of cargoes, approved by the Ministry of Railways.
Transportation of the wire for railway carriages is carried out, small or low-tonnage shipments.
Allowed the transport of wire in universal containers according to GOST 15102,20435 GOST, GOST 22225.
