These specifications apply to hot-rolled and forged rods made of heat-resistant alloy KhN58MBYu-ID (EK171-ID, VZh159-ID), smelted in vacuum-induction furnaces with subsequent vacuum-arc remelting. It is permitted to use hot-rolled and forged rods for subsequent hot processing.
The metal is smelted using fresh charge materials.
1. ASSORTMENT
1.1. Rods are supplied with a diameter of Ø 12÷75 mm.
In terms of shape, dimensions and maximum deviations, the rods must comply with:
- hot rolled Ø 12-55 mm - GOST 22411 2nd rolling accuracy group;
- forged Ø 60-75 mm GOST 22411.
1.2. The length of the rods is not shorter than 500 mm.
1.3. It is permitted to supply rods of other dimensions specified in the agreed specification.
2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
2.1. The chemical composition of the alloy must comply with the requirements of Table 1.
2.2. Hot rolled bars are supplied in a turned condition.
2.3. There should be no films, cracks or tears on the surface of hot-rolled and forged rods.
Local defects must be removed by gentle grinding. The grinding depth must not exceed the negative maximum deviation, calculated from the nominal size.
Individual scratches, dents, and ripples within the minus maximum deviation, calculated from the nominal size, are allowed without cleaning.
2.4. Hot rolled and forged bars are supplied without heat treatment or in a heat treated (hardened) condition.
The need for heat treatment is indicated in the order.
Heat treatment is carried out according to the following regime: hardening (1100 ± 20) °C, air cooling.
The heat treatment mode is agreed upon by the customer and indicated in the quality document.
2.5. Mechanical properties and impact toughness at room temperature, mechanical properties at 850 °C and long-term strength at 900 °C are controlled on longitudinal heat-treated samples.

NOTES: 1. In the finished metal, deviations from the norm of chemical composition are allowed for molybdenum plus or minus 0.1%; niobium
plus, minus 0.1%.
2. Magnesium, boron, yttrium and lanthanum are introduced into the metal by calculation and are not determined by chemical analysis.

When delivering rods in a heat-treated condition, the samples are heat-treated according to the following regime: aging (800 ± 10) °C, holding for 10 hours, air cooling, aging (700 ± 10) °C, holding for 15 hours, air cooling.
When delivering rods without heat treatment, the samples are heat treated according to the following regime: hardening (1100 ± 20) °C, holding for 40-60 minutes, air cooling, aging (800 ± 10) °C, holding for 10 hours, air cooling, aging (700 ± 10) °C, holding for 15 hours, air cooling.
Standards for mechanical properties and long-term strength are given in Table 2.
2.6. If unsatisfactory results are obtained in tests of mechanical properties and long-term strength on at least one sample, repeat tests are carried out on twice the number of samples of the type of tests that gave unsatisfactory results. The results of repeat tests are optional.
2.7. The macrostructure of the alloy should not have shrinkage cavities, bubbles, cracks, slag inclusions, or delaminations visible without the use of magnifying devices.
2.8. The contamination of the alloy with non-metallic inclusions by average score should not exceed:
line oxides (OS) - 1.5b.
point oxides (PO) - 1.5b.
brittle silicates (SC) - 1.0b.
plastic silicates (SP) - 1.0b.
non-deformable silicates (SN) - 3.5b.
sulfides (C) - 1.0b.
nitrides line - 4.5b.
point nitrides - 4.0b.
After delivery of at least 3 heats of each size, the standards are clarified.
2.9. Ultrasonic testing of rods is carried out according to GOST 21120, quality group 1.
Ultrasonic testing of rods with a diameter of less than 30 mm is carried out in an intermediate blank.
2.10. The rods are supplied with grain size control.
The rods are supplied with a grain size no larger than 6 of GOST 5639. The standard is optional, the actual control results are indicated in the quality document.
After delivery of at least 3 heats for each size, the standards are clarified.

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES AND TEST METHODS
3.1. Acceptance rules and testing methods according to GOST 5949.
The chemical composition is determined according to GOST 24018.7, GOST 24018.8, GOST 12346, GOST 12347, GOST 12348, GOST 12350, GOST 12352, GOST 12354, GOST 12357, GOST 12361, GOST 29095 or another method that ensures the required accuracy of determination.
3.2. Vacuum arc melting includes ingots melted from one initial melt.
3.3. Control of mechanical properties and long-term strength is carried out in the supplied profile on 2 samples for each type of test.
Cutting samples according to GOST 7564, option 1.
3.4. Macrostructure control is carried out according to the GOST 22838 method on 2 templates in the supplied profile.
3.5. Control of non-metallic inclusions is carried out according to the methodology of GOST 1778, method "Ш", option "Ш4".
The control is carried out in the supplied profile.
3.6. Grain size control is carried out in the supplied profile in accordance with GOST 5639.
4. MARKING, PACKAGING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
4.1. Marking, packaging, transportation and storage according to GOST 7566.

1 Clause 2.4 shall be set out in a new version:

2 Clause 2.5 shall be set out in a new version:
"2.5. Mechanical properties and impact strength at room temperature, mechanical properties and residual creep deformation at a temperature of 850 °C, long-term strength at a temperature of 900 °C are controlled on longitudinal samples taken in the as-delivered condition and heat-treated according to the following modes:
Mode 1 (double aging):
(800 ± 10) °C, 10 hours exposure, air cooling
+(700 ± 10) °C, 15 hours exposure, air cooling.
Mode 2 (four-fold aging):
(900 ± 10) °C, 5 hours, air cooling
+(800 ± 10) °C, 10 hours exposure, air cooling
+(700 ± 10) °C, 10 hours exposure, air cooling
+(650 ± 10) °C, 10 hours exposure, air cooling.
Standards for mechanical properties, residual creep deformation and long-term strength are given in Table 2."
3 Clause 2.6 shall be set out in a new version:
"2.6. If unsatisfactory results are obtained from tests of mechanical properties, long-term strength and residual creep deformation on at least one sample, repeat tests are carried out on twice the number of samples of the type that gave unsatisfactory results.
If unsatisfactory results are obtained from repeated tests on at least one sample, a repeated full heat treatment is carried out. The test results after repeated heat treatment are considered primary."

"2.8. The alloy contamination with non-metallic inclusions according to the average score should not exceed:
