Technical characteristics
This alloy relates to a group of heat-resistant bronze mill-products. Chemical formula is CuCr1Zr. It consists of such alloying elements as chrome, zircinium, arsenic, bismuth, nickel. Bronze sheet products of this grade are characterized by high hardness, resistance to corrosion, heat resistance, wear resistance. They possess good electrical and thermal conductivity. Products are widely used in electrical engineering. Alloy mainly consists of copper (minimum 98%). Heat treatment temperature of semi-finished products is 700 — 900 °C.

Heat treatment
Bronze sheet products can be delivered in the following forms:
1) Untreated. These are hot-rolled mill-products that are cooled in natural way.
2) Hardened bronze mill-products. After pre-heating up to 700 — 900 °C, they are hardened in water.
3) Thermohardening with further cold deformation. Cold-deformed bronze mill-products have increased strength and hardness.
Application
Bronze strip of CuCr1Zr grade is commonly used in manufacture of power movable electric contacts, which include rotor slip rings, rotor synchronous machines, wound rotor induction motors and plate of DC machine collectors.
