Dysprosium oxide (Dy₂O₃), also known as dysprosium(III) oxide, is an inorganic compound belonging to the group of rare-earth oxides. The material is typically supplied as a fine, slightly pastel-yellow to white powder and is characterized by very high thermal stability.

With a melting point of approximately 2408 °C, dysprosium oxide remains stable under extreme thermal conditions. It is insoluble in water and organic solvents but dissolves readily in mineral acids, forming the corresponding dysprosium(III) salts.

Due to the high magnetic moment of Dy³⁺ ions, the compound exhibits strong paramagnetic properties. The element dysprosium also has a high thermal-neutron capture cross-section, making its compounds relevant for nuclear technology. Dysprosium oxide is commonly produced by calcining dysprosium oxalate or dysprosium hydroxide at elevated temperatures.

Dysprosium metal and its compounds are used in advanced magnetic materials, nuclear technology, optical systems, lasers and high-performance ceramics. Dysprosium oxide is particularly important as an additive in NdFeB permanent magnets, where it can improve magnetic stability at elevated temperatures.
