Technical characteristics
The main alloying elements of aluminum rolled products of VD1AM grade are copper and magnesium. This alloy has high ductility, good machinability and corrosion resistance. It can be used in low temperature applications. The last two letters of the marking indicate that the product:
- A - with normal cladding;
- M - annealed.

Processing
Heat treatment can change the structure of the material and its mechanical or physical properties. Annealing makes rolled aluminum more ductile and makes it easier to cut. To restore hardness, rolling with a compression of 2% and up to 5%, i.e. tempering, is used. Tape such as VD1AN2 is made with normal cladding from semi-nargined alloy. It is characterized by high strength, resistance to corrosion. Anodic oxidation can be used for coating.
