Technical characteristics
Alloy Inconel 617 ® (UNS N06617) constitutes a nickel-chrome-cobalt-molybdenum alloy. It has a good oxidation resistance and a wide range of properties in an aggressive environment. A high content of chrome, nickel makes alloy resistant to various regenerative and oxidizing environment. Aluminium in pair with chrome provide an oxidation resistance at high temperatures. These elements with molybdenum allow withstanding a lot of humid aggressive environments. Alloy can be exposed to heat treatment with a help of annealing at 1177 ° C (2150°F) and with further thermohardening in water or cooling in air for thinner sections.
Application
Inconel is utilized in a sphere of petrochemical refinement, in a manufacture of industrial and gas turbines for details of combustion wells.

Processing
This alloy has a high plasticity and it can satisfactory be taken to molding. But it is disposed to a hammer hardening. That is why it must be cut at small speeds with a special tool. A welding is possible only after previous heating details to 100−120°C with further annealing.
