Copper C11000 — 2.0090 characteristics
C11000 is a high-quality copper with a high content of main metal in composition. Plumb, arsenic, nickel, iron, sulfur, antimony, tin, bismuth are also presented in composition. C11000 grade has high electric and heat conductivity, plasticity, corrosive resistance, and processability. Grade C11000 is used in manufacturing of requested alloys of non-iron metals such as bronze and brass. Alloying components (phosphorus, nickel etc.) in composition influence on copper characteristics. Depending on manufacturing method, there are distinguished the different copper grades: By physical parameters, copper can be: soft or hard.
Relevance
Copper is the most widespread non-iron material. It differs with high anticorrosive properties not only in fresh or sea water but in different aggressive environments as well. Despite this, copper is non-resistant in environment of ammonia and sulfur dioxide. It can be easily brazed and pressure treated. Possessing limited casting properties, copper is hardly welded and cut. Usually, it is used in a form of pipes, busbars, sheets, bars, wire. Oxygen content in C11000 constitutes about 0.05−0.08%.
Industrial application: smelt of high-quality bronze, brass; manufacture of current-carrying conductors, parts of cryogenic equipment, bars and wires for automatic welding under flux or in environment of cast iron or copper.
