The main requirements are conditioned by the latest developments of engine constructions, continuous increasing of plasticity, resistance to low-cycle and thermal fatigue, heat resistance, resistance to an effect of gas environment. Material of modern engines for turbine blades must possess a high resistance to breakage at thermal and low-cycle fatigues which are the main types of breakage. A risk of breakage can increase by surface reactions. They appear because of grain boundary softening and gas corrosion.
