Wire is made in outgassing, pickled conditions. Out-of-roundness of welding titanium wire cannot be bigger than its diameter for limit deviation. Its surface must be clean and clear, without non-pickled places, black spots, colors of tarnish. Dark non-pickled places, minor tears, small guide marks, backfins of a depth that does not exceed sizes are allowed on a surface.

Small separate defects at wire diameter of up to 3.0 mm deep, exceeding the limit of 0.1 mm are allowed on a surface. Cleaning of contaminations and surface defects are done by means of pickling treatment and dressing for wire degassing. Further dressing of small separate contaminations and pickling treatment of certain repeated degassing are allowed as well. A general scope of macrosection with defined exceeding of defect depth during a process of metallographic examination cannot be higher than 10% of general scope of macrosection inspection lot.

Titanium wire is rolled in coils. Its outer diameter must not exceed 900 mm. Wire waps must not stick together. There must not be present coil cambers of more than 100°. Distortion of titanium wire which appears at coil annealing is not a flaw. Coil weight along with a wire cannot be more than 50 kg. If coil is composed of a few pieces, a length of every piece must not be less than 10 m.
