1.2.2 The surface of the rods and strips must be free from contamination that would impede visual inspection.
There should be no cavities, cracks or bubbles on the surface.
Local defects are allowed on the surface of rods and strips if, during control cleaning, they do not take the rods and strips beyond the maximum dimensional deviations.
1.2.3 The mechanical and electrical properties of strips and rods must meet the following requirements:
- Brinell hardness HB not less than 180;
- specific electrical resistance no more than 0.04 ohm mm²/m.
1.2.4 The end of the rod adjacent to the press residue is subject to bending or cutting until the press residue is completely removed.
1.2.5 Rods and strips must be cut evenly without burrs.
1.2.6 Radii of up to 3 mm are allowed at the corners of the cross-section of the strips.
1.2.7 The curvature of the rods per 1 running meter should be:
- for diameters from 16 to 40 mm no more than 2.0 mm;
- for diameters over 40 mm no more than 6.0 mm.
1.2.8 The curvature of strips of all sizes per linear meter must be no more than 6.0 mm.
1.2.9 The twisting of the strips relative to the longitudinal axis should not exceed 2 degrees per 1 meter of length.
1.3 Marking
1.3.1 The following data must be applied to the label attached to the rods or strips:
- trademark or name and trademark of the manufacturer;
- conventional designation of rods or strips;
- batch number;
- technical control stamp.
1.3.2 For marking rods, it is permissible to use the conventional designation of the alloy - MKB.
1.4 Packaging
1.4.1 Rods and strips must be packed in wooden boxes in accordance with GOST 2991-85, lined with paper in accordance with GOST 8828-89.
Note - It is allowed to tie rods and strips into bundles weighing no more than 80 kg. Each bundle must consist of at least three rods or strips and must be tied with wire of at least 1.2 mm in diameter according to GOST 3282-74 in two turns in at least two places, or with packing tape of at least 0.6 x 19 mm in a lock. The ends of the wire are connected by twisting at least five turns.
