Characteristics of 52N grade
An alloy of grade 52N with a high saturation induction (1,5T) and permeability relates to alloys of precision group with a defined linear expansion thermal coefficient (1 000 000* LCTE at a temperature range -70 +550 ºC up to 11−11.4 [1/ºC], It is used for joints with a soft glass. The main composition of precision alloys is iron that is alloyed with copper, nickel, niobium, cobalt. Precision alloys possess unique physical and mechanical characteristics (magnetic, elastic, heating, electrical etc.). They are characterized by an accuracy of chemical composition, a preciseness of manufacture, processing, and absence of residual elements. A temperature of melting is 1450 °C.

Iron-nickel alloys are smelted in an open arc furnace. They possess a small variation of electrical resistance (not more than 5%), which are defined by force and existent magnetic orientation. This alloy must be alloyed with such elements as copper, mangan, silicon for strengthening of electromagnetic properties. A smelt is done in a vacuum or inert gas environment. Semi-fabricates of minimal thickness is manufactured with method of cold-rolled stamping with the further annealing. It is done for increasing magnetic properties. Permalloy of this grade has improved features and an increased magnetizing. This alloy is characterized by a significant magnetic sensitivity in relation to external changes.
