Wire shall be manufactured from steel of grade 55 according to GOST 1050 or other regulatory-technical documentation 70 marks, 65G, 70G GOST 14959 or other regulatory-technical documentation.
At the request of the consumer the run of the carbon content should be not more than 0.05%.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
2.2. The surface of the light wires should be no tint, captivity, burrs, cracks, scratches, holes, rust, and without scars.
The surface of the tinned wire must be covered with a continuous layer of tin, no blacks, cracks, delamination, rust, and free of nodules, increasing the actual diameter of the wire on the magnitude of the more extreme deviations from the nominal diameter.
2.3. The wire should be straight.
2.4. Wire shall be tested for breaking with the node, while breaking strength shall be not less than 55% of the breaking strength of the same wire at the gap with no node.
2.5. The tin coating should be durable. When winding tinned wire tightly adjacent coils along a helical line on a cylindrical core with a diameter equal to four diameters of wire, there should not be delamination and cracking of the coating. The number of turns must not be less than six.

Notes:
1. Standards for temporary tear resistance are introduced with effect from 01.01.92, in addition to the round wire without coating of steel grade 55 all classes and brands of 70 1 grade oval and round tin-plated steel stamps 55 of 1st class. The determination of the temporal rupture strength required for statistical purposes.
2. If the determination of the temporal rupture strength at the ends of the strand test results fall into two classes, the coils belonging to one of the classes is set to a smaller value.
3. The run of temporary tear resistance of wire on a reel should be no more than 100 N/mm(kgf/mm).
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
2.7. In the microstructure of the wire is not allowed the presence of structurally free ferrite.
2.8. Wire is manufactured in coils consisting of one segment. The inner diameter of a coil should be 200−360 mm. Winding wire shall be carried out without entanglement of the coils and permit the free unwinding coil. The ends of the wire should be easy to find. During the liberation from the bindings of a coil wire should not be folding in the «eight».
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
2.9. Weight of a coil of light wire round and oval cross section shall be as defined in table.3.

Allowed weight of a coil of wire of not less than 30% of normal in the amount of not more than 10% of the mass of the party.
Weight of a coil of tinned wire shall be not less than 0.3 kg rectangular and not less than 0.5 kg.
3. ACCEPTANCE RULES
3.1. Wire is accepted by the parties. The party should consist of wire of the same size, type, type of surface, the same class, and must be issued by a quality document in which you specify:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
symbol wire;
the net mass;
the date of packaging;
stamp of technical control;
chemical composition of steel.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
3.2. The appearance inspection, dimensional inspection, inspection of temporary tear resistance and run temporary tear resistance subjected to each coil.
3.3. To check straightness, microstructure and the tensile test with the node selected 3% of the skeins, but at least three.
3.4. If unsatisfactory test results repeat tests are carried out at twice the sample. The results of repeated tests considered final.
4. TEST METHODS
4.1. For determination of the temporal rupture strength and run the temporary tear resistance is taken one sample from each end of the strand, and to check the straightness, of the microstructure, the tensile test with the node at one sample from each roll.
4.2. The size of the wire and check with a micrometer according to GOST 6507 and Mr of the type according to GOST 4381 in two mutually perpendicular directions of the same cross-section in at least three areas of a coil.
