Technical characteristics
Silicon bronze is alloy of European bronze (class of silicon bronzes). Silicon bronze is a part of high-strength bronzes subgroups. They are the strengthened hard solutions.

Alloys possess high strength, perfect corrosive resistance. Semi-fabricates can be made out of European alloys: rod, wire, pipe, sheet, strip. These alloys are similar to silicon red brasses. However, bronze contains very low concentrations of zinc in comparison with brass. Silicon red bronze alloys are marked as UNS C47000 - C66100. Alloys of red casted silicon are marked as C87300 - C87900. Silicon brass casting possesses good strength and perfect water and atmospheric resistance to corrosion.
Application
Alloys of silicon bronzes are used for valve rods that require high corrosion resistance and strength. Besides, many other products can be manufactured of silicon bronze: high strength thin-walled castings, brush holders, levers, clamps, terminals, castings of general purpose with a medium strength.
