These technical conditions apply to the supply of hot-rolled and forged bars made of corrosion-resistant steel grade X16H6 (ЭП 288).
1. Range.
1.1. Bars are supplied in round or square sections with diameters or side dimensions up to 200 mm.
1.2. In terms of shape, size and permissible deviations, the rods must correspond to:
- hot rolled round — GOST 2590−57 .
- hot rolled square — GOST 4693−57 .
GOST 2591−57.
- hot-rolled square sizes — GOST 4692−57 .
- rum over 160 mm
- forged round and square — GOST 1133−41 .
For sizes with a cross section over 180 mm, a tolerance of ± 10 mm is set.
1.3. By agreement of the parties under these technical conditions, forgings are supplied, manufactured by open-die forging on hammers.
The dimensions of the forgings are specified in the STU or drawings.
2. Technical requirements
2.1. The chemical composition of the steel must meet the requirements specified in table 1.

Note: Subject to the requirements of the technical conditions, it is allowed
deviation from the norms of the chemical composition for chromium by minus 0.5%.
2.2. The mechanical properties of steel, determined on control heat-treated specimens cut from blanks along the fiber direction, must meet the requirements of Table 2.

Note: Heat treatment is performed in finished samples with an allowance for
grinding.
2.3. Bars are supplied without heat treatment. Upon the customer’s request, the bars are supplied in annealed condition. Recommended heat treatment mode: annealing at a temperature of 780 ° with cooling in a furnace or in air and subsequent heating to a temperature of 680 ° with cooling in a furnace or in air.
2.4. The macrostructure of the rods should be free of voids, holes, cracks, delamination, slag inclusions visible to the naked eye.
The assessment of the macrostructure is carried out according to the method and scales of GOST 10243−62. The degree of development of point heterogeneity, central porosity, and liquation square should not exceed the 2nd point of the GOST 10243−62 scales. Other defects classified by GOST 10243−62 are not allowed.
2.5. There should be no cracks, sunsets, chains, captivity and sand on the surface of the rods. Local defects must be removed by gently cutting or stripping to a depth not exceeding the sum of the allowable size deviations from the actual one.
Separate small risks, dents, ripples and hairs with a depth not exceeding half of the total tolerance are allowed without stripping.
The ratio of the depth of cutting or stripping to its width should be at least 1: 6.
3. Rules, acceptance, test methods,
labeling, packaging, documentation
3.1. Requirements regarding test methods according to GOST 5949−61 .
3.2. All other requirements regarding the rules for acceptance of packaging, labeling and documentation must comply with GOST 7566−69 with the following additions:
a) Before retesting on a doubled number of samples, it is allowed to test (no more than once) the mechanical properties at a changed tempering temperature of the samples within the mode specified in table. 2, while the test is considered primary;
b) The data of the initial tests are recorded in the certificate if the batch of metal is recognized as suitable according to the results of repeated tests.
4. Procedure for payment for products
4.1. The procedure for payment for products is made in accordance with the annex to the TU.

4.1. Calculation of wholesale prices
Wholesale prices of the same grade EP 288 according to ChMTU / TsNIICHM 1088−64 are accepted as an analogue for high-grade steel grade X16N6 (EP 288) according to TU 14−1-205−72.
Bar steel grade X16N6 (EP 288) according to TU 1441−205−72 differs from steel grade EP 288 according to ChMTU / TsNIICHM 1088−64 in the following quality indicator:
1) The macrostructure is normalized with a n.b. score. 2.
Wholesale prices for section steel grade X16N6 (EP 288) according to TU 14−1-205−72 are calculated based on the list prices for section steel grade EP 288 according to ChMTU / TsNIICHM 1088−64 with a surcharge for the normalized macrostructure of 1%.

«TU 14−1-205−72» Hot-rolled and forged bars from corrosion-resistant steel grade X16N6 (EP288) «
1. In the name, definition, clause 2.1 (table 1), clause 2.2 (table 2), in the calculation of wholesale prices, replace the brand name Х16Н6 (ЭП288) with 07Х16Н6 (EN288).
2. Clause 2.1, table 1. The manganese content should be taken as nb 0.8% instead of nb 1.0%.
3. In clause 1.2, the reference to GOST 2590−57 should be replaced by GOST 2590−71, GOST 2591−57 by GOST 2591−71, and GOST 1133−41 by GOST 1133−71 .
Reason: The introduction of the newly approved GOSTs, GOST 5632−72 and the decision of the Ministry of Aviation Industry and the Ministry of Chermet on 01.21.

5. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
5.1. Metal products are transported by all types of transport in accordance with the rules of transportation in force for this type of transport and the conditions for loading and securing goods, approved by the USSR Ministry of Railways.
5.2. Bars should be stored in conditions that ensure the safety of their quality indicators, due to technical conditions.
