Relevance

CW614N is alloy of copper and zinc with lead additives. This alloy has similar properties to leaded bronzes. An important advantage of brass alloy is good workability. There can be manufactured a lot of things out of CW614N: complex-shaped devices, watch gears, bearings, branch conduits, pipes for chemical or plumbing equipment. Alloy possesses good corrosive resistance. Due to this, it is much-requested in manufacture of cocks, stop valves. Due lead additives, there can be easily obtained different types of mill-products: sheet, bar, wire. Plates, strips, sheets, various sections are widely used in mechanical engineering.

Copper (Cu) 57.00 - 59.00
Lead (Pb) 2.50 - 3.50
Aluminium (Al) 0.0 - 0.05
Iron (Fe) 0.0 - 0.30
Nickel (Ni) 0.0 - 0.30
Others (Total) 0.0 - 0.20
Tin (Sn) 0.0 - 0.30
Zinc (Zn) Balance

Brasses can be divided into two groups: alpha-alloys (contain less than 37% of zinc) and alpha-beta alloys (contain 37−45% of zinc). Alpha-alloys are more malleable and can be easily exposed to cold working. Alpha-beta alloys or duplex alloys have limited plasticity in cold state. Brass CW614N is alpha-beta alloy that can also contain a small quantity of other alloying element for imparting special properties.

Physical characteristics of the alloy:

Density of material is 8,47 g/cm3;

Melting point is 875 °C;

Thermal expansion is -20,9x10 -6 / K;

Module of flexibility is 97 HPa;

Heat conductivity is 123 V/m. K;

Electrical resistance is 0,062 Оhm-mm2/m.
