These technical conditions apply to the supply of hot-rolled and forged rods made of corrosion-resistant steel grades 08X18H10T-VD (EI 914-VD) and 10X18H10T-VD (EP 502-VD) of vacuum-arc remelting. The initial metal is smelted on a fresh charge without the use of waste, using nickel grades NKS-1 or H-0 for smelting. The use of nickel grades N1U and H1 is permitted, provided that the requirements established by the technical conditions are met.

1 Assortment
1.1 The products are manufactured in the form of hot-rolled and forged rods in accordance with the specialization of the supplier plant. The assortment, shape and dimensions of the rods must meet the requirements:
Hot rolled round - GOST 2590 of normal rolling accuracy (B);
Hot rolled square - GOST 2591 of normal rolling accuracy (B) and TU 14-1-4492-88;
Forged round and square - GOST 1133.
2 Technical requirements
2.1 The chemical composition of the steel must comply with the standards specified in Table 1.

Note. 1 The following deviations from the established standards of chemical composition are permitted in finished products: for steel 10X18H10T-VD (EP 502-VD) - carbon minus 0.01%; for steel grade 08X18H10T-VD (EI 914-VD) - for manganese minus 0.3%, for titanium plus 0.10%; for both grades of steel - phosphorus plus 0.005%. 2 Mass fraction of residual elements - according to GOST 5632. 3 At the customer's request, steel is produced with a cobalt mass fraction of no more than 0.2%. |
2.2 The rods are supplied without heat treatment.
2.3 The surface quality of the rods must meet the requirements of GOST 5949. The purpose of the rolled products (for hot pressure treatment - subgroup "a" or cold mechanical treatment - subgroup "b") must be specified in the order.
2.4 The metal must be at least 2.5.
2.5 On rods cut in presses, shears and under hammers, crumpled ends and burrs are allowed.
2.6 The macrostructure of the rods should not contain subcortical bubbles, cracks, shrinkage cavities, or foreign metal or slag inclusions visible to the naked eye.
Permissible defects of the macrostructure must not exceed, in points:
point heterogeneity - 1;
central porosity - 1;
liquation - 1.
The etchability square and layer-by-layer crystallization are not a rejection feature.
2.7 The mechanical properties of bars, determined on heat-treated longitudinal samples, must comply with the requirements of Table 2.

2.8 The contamination of steel with non-metallic inclusions must not exceed, in points, the standards specified in Table 3.

2.9 Steel grades 10X18H10T-VD (EP 502-VD) and 08X18H10T-VD (EI 914-VD) must be resistant to intercrystalline corrosion.
2.10 The size of the austenite grain must be within the range of 4-9 numbers of GOST 5639.
2.11 The content of the ferrite phase should not exceed 2.0 points.
2.12 Rods with a diameter or square side over 90 mm undergo 100% ultrasonic testing. The quality of the metal must comply with group 1 of GOST 21120.
2.13 The supplier plant guarantees the quality of the metal during hot upsetting to 1/2 of the original height at the consumer's without testing at the supplier plant.
2.14 The supplier plant guarantees the quality of the metal in hairlines in finished parts at the consumer's in accordance with the requirements of technical specifications TU 14-1-336-72.
3 Acceptance rules, testing methods, marking, packaging, documentation, transportation and storage
3.1 General rules for acceptance, testing methods, marking, packaging, documentation, transportation and storage - according to GOST 5949.
3.2 Vacuum arc melting refers to ingots obtained by remelting one initial melt, in a unit of one type, in a crystallizer of one cross-section, using one electrical mode.

3.3 Chemical analysis of steel is carried out according to GOST 28473, GOST 12344, GOST 12356 or other methods that ensure the required accuracy of determination.
3.4 The assessment of steel contamination with non-metallic inclusions is carried out according to GOST 1778 method Ш, option Ш1 or Ш4, on 6 samples from a melt. For rods with a cross-section of up to 90 mm, samples are taken from 6 rods, for rods with dimensions greater than 90 mm, blanks are cut from two samples, reforged into a circle or square of 90-100 mm.
3.5 Mechanical properties of rods larger than 100 mm may be controlled on samples made from specimens reforged into a circle or square of 80-100 mm.
3.6 The results of testing mechanical properties, macrostructure, non-metallic inclusions and intercrystalline corrosion in a larger section may be transferred to smaller ones.
3.7 The size of the austenite grain is determined according to GOST 5639 on two samples cut in the longitudinal direction of the fiber, heat-treated according to the regime established for testing mechanical properties.
3.8 Ultrasonic testing is carried out in accordance with GOST 21120.
3.9 Intercrystalline corrosion testing is carried out according to GOST 6032 using the AMU method. If unsatisfactory results are obtained, testing is permitted using the AM method with 24-hour soak in the solution.
The samples are subjected to provocative heating at a temperature of 650 ± 10°C for 2 hours.
3.10 The rods are marked EP502-VD and EI914-VD.
3.11 The dimensions of the rods are not indicated in the marking sign.
