3A.4. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators it is carried out re-testing at twice the sample.
The results of a second test applies to the whole party.
Sec. 3A. (Added, Rev. N 2).
3. TEST METHODS
3.1. To determine the mechanical properties and the quality of zinc coating of wire take one sample from the outer end of the strand.
3.2. The surface quality of the wire is checked with the naked eye. Color passive film check with the naked eye, and if there is disagreement in the assessment — the standard agreed between the manufacturer and the consumer.
3.3. The diameter of the wire for making the base and the spikes are measured with a micrometer according to GOST 6507 in at least three areas of a coil.
3.4. The geometric dimensions of the basics check the caliper according to GOST 166. The geometric dimensions of the stud (corners) test limit templates.

3.1 to 3.7 (Revised edition, Edit. N 2).
3.8. Surface density of zinc determine the weight and space-gasometrical methods, and the uniformity of coating is by immersion.
The weight method is used for very precise definitions and arbitration tests.
Length samples of wire, designed to determine the surface density of zinc weight and space-gasometrical methods, shall be not less than 100 mm. weighing and bleeding zinc test specimen of wire is allowed to cut into any number of segments depending on the test conditions.
3.8.1. Weight method
Surface density of zinc weight method is determined by dissolving the coating from the samples of wire in sulfuric acid solution with the addition of an inhibitor arsenic trioxide or antimony trioxide.
The composition of the bleed solution
— 20−25 g/DM;
or — 2 g/DM.
The bleed solution is replaced as it is exhaustion.
Test to determine the surface density of the zinc by the gravimetric method carried out in the following order:
a) take samples of wire, degreased in alcohol, gasoline or benzene, wipe with a clean cloth and weighed;
b) dissolve the zinc coating;
C) the samples are washed in water, wipe with a clean cloth to remove moisture and weighed;
d) calculate the surface density of zinc.
Surface density of zinc (a) in grams per 1 mof the surface of the wire is calculated by the formula
,
where is the mass of the specimen of wire (or group of samples) before removing the coating, g;
— the mass of the wire specimen (or group of samples) after removing the coating, g;
— nominal diameter of specimen, mm.
The accuracy of determining individual values should be as follows:
and — 0,001 g;
— 0,010 mm.
Surface density of zinc is calculated with an error of not more than 0.1 g/m.
3.8.2. Space-gasometrical method
Removing the zinc coating with three-gasometrical method is performed under complete immersion of the samples of wire into the solution at room temperature until cessation of gas evolution.
The composition of the bleed solution is the same as with the weight method.
The order of operations when determining the surface density of zinc volumetric method gasometrical the following:
a) take samples of wire and measure actual length;
b) degreasing the specimens in alcohol, gasoline or benzene and wipe with a clean cloth;
C) dissolve the zinc coating, completely catching released when the hydrogen;
g) measure the volume of evolved hydrogen gas and bring him to normal conditions;
d) calculate the surface density of zinc.
Surface density of zinc (a) in grams per 1 mof the surface of the wire is calculated by the formula
,
where is the arithmetic average of the volume of hydrogen at normal conditions (pressure of 760 mm Hg.St. and 0 °C), cm;
— the nominal diameter of the wire specimen, mm;
— length of sample, mm.
The accuracy of determining individual values should be as follows:
— 0.010 mm;
— 0,100 mm.
Surface density of zinc is calculated with an error of not more than 0.1 g/m.
3.8.3. The immersion method
Test wire on the uniformity of the zinc coating is carried out by immersion in a solution of copper sulphate is obtained by dissolving one part by weight of dry crystal of copper sulphate according to GOST 19347 in five weight parts of distilled water and neutralized with an excess of freshly precipitated hydrate of copper oxide. After neutralization the solution should be filtered. The density of the neutralized solution should be within a 1,114−1,116 g/cm.
The temperature of the solution of copper sulphate should be 18±2 °C.
The order of testing the following:
a) take samples of wire, degreased in alcohol, gasoline, benzene or ether. If the samples are washed with petrol or benzene, to produce an additional rinse in distilled water;
b) washed samples wipe dry with cotton or a clean cloth and immersed in a solution of copper sulphate. The duration of each dive and number of dives, depending on the component of the barbed wire are given in table.2.
The depth of immersion of the samples in a solution of copper sulfate is about 100 mm.
Before each subsequent immersion in a solution of copper sulfate samples were washed with distilled water and wipe with cotton or a clean cloth. Samples of wire must be copper sulfate solution in a stationary state, not in contact with each other and with the walls of the vessel. The same solution of copper sulphate with a volume of 200 cmcan be used for test no more than 10 samples.
On the surface of samples of wire after the test by immersion is not allowed places, covered with copper, not coming down when wiping with cotton wool or a clean cloth.
On the surface of the wire after the test is allowed:
a) redness at the site corresponding to the height of the solution level, at a distance of 10 mm from this level at the distance of 20 mm from the immersed in the solution the lower end of the sample;
b) the heterogeneity in color, white spots and glitter;
C) white plaque, after removal of which the wire can withstand the test of the quality of zinc coating, as well as brown color and the redness of point character, disappearing with the additional (not more than 5 seconds) immersed in a solution of copper sulfate.
