Wire uncoated heat-treated is made of light ©, and by agreement between the consumer and the manufacturer is allowed to produce black (CH) wire.
Coated wire is divided into:
galvanized 1-class 1C,
galvanized 2-class — 2Ц;
for precision manufacturing:

normal;
according to the temporary tear resistance (only for raw wire):
Group I — I,
II group — II.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 5).
1.2. The wire is manufactured diameter:
from 0.16 to 10.00 mm — without coating;
from 0.20 to 6.00 mm with coating.
The diameter of the wire and limit deviation shall be as specified in table.1.

When disagreement in the assessment of the quality defect on the surface of the wire is removed by the sweep and depth of it is determined by comparative measurement of the diameter in protected and unprotected areas. Allowed determination of the depth of defects is performed by means of a microscope of any type.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2, 5).
4.2. Diameter and ovality of wire is measured in two mutually perpendicular directions of the same cross-section in at least three places of each coil or coils with a micrometer according to GOST 6507.
The diameter of galvanized wire is measured on the section of wire with a smooth surface without sagging.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 5).
4.3. Test wire tensile and rupture with the node is carried out according to GOST 10446.
4.4. Test the wire on the bend is carried out according to GOST 1579. Test bend wire with a diameter of less than 0.50 mm is replaced by a rupture test with the node. At the same breaking strength should not be less than 50% of the breaking strength of the same wire, when tested without its host.
4.5. Test wire for the winding is carried out according to GOST 10447.
4.6. Surface density of zinc wire determine the weight or volume-gasometrical method, and uniformity and continuity of zinc coating by immersion.
The weight method is used for very precise definitions and arbitration tests.

4.6.1. Space-gasometrical method
Removing zinc coating produced in full immersion of the samples of wire in the solution at ambient temperature until the cessation of gassing.
A coil (coil) of wire is estimated by the arithmetic mean of test results not less than two samples. The test is carried out separately for each sample in the following order:
a) take samples of wire and measure set for the test length. Sampling produce at least 0.5 m from one another;
b) degreased wire samples in alcohol, benzene, or gasoline and wipe with a clean cloth;
C) dissolve the zinc coating, completely catching released when the hydrogen;
g) measure the volume of evolved hydrogen gas for each sample, summarize it, and the arithmetic average result of normal conditions (pressure of 760 mm Hg.St., temperature 0 °C);
d) calculate the average surface density of zinc per 1 mof the surface of the wire in grams, according to the formula
where — the average value of the volume of hydrogen under normal conditions, cm;
— the nominal diameter of the wire specimen, mm;
— length of sample, mm.
Bleeding zinc produced in an aqueous solution of the mixture of acids:
sulfuric according to GOST 4204 — 100 g/DM;
a salt according to GOST 3118 — 34 g/DMor
in the inhibited solution of sulfuric acid prepared in the following manner: 2 g of SbOor AsOdissolved in 60 cmof hydrochloric acid density of 1.19 g/cmaccording to GOST 3118 and made up to 1 l of sulfuric acid according to GOST 4204 concentration of 80 g/DM.
The bleed solution is replaced as it is exhaustion.
4.6.2. Weight method
The amount of zinc on the surface of the wire is determined by dissolving the coating from the samples of wire in a solution of inhibited sulphuric acid of the composition specified in claim
The average weight of coating weight by the method determined in the following order:
a) samples of galvanized wire is degreased in alcohol, gasoline or benzene and wipe with a clean cloth;
b) weigh the sample;
C) dissolve the zinc coating;
d) the samples are washed in distilled water and wiped with a clean cloth to remove moisture;
d) weigh the samples and measure the actual diameter of the specimen after etching zinc;
e) calculate the average surface density of zinc per 1 mof the wire surface (), by the formula
where is the mass of the sample wire (Swatch group) before removing the coating, g;
the mass of the sample wire (Swatch group) after removing the coating, g;
— diameter of the wire specimen after the etching of the coating, mm.
Value and is determined with an accuracy of 0.001 g, the value to the nearest 0.01 mm, the average surface density of zinc with an accuracy of 0.1 g/m.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 5).
4.6.3. The immersion method
The continuity and uniformity of the zinc coating is controlled by immersion of the sample of galvanized wire in a solution of copper sulphate, prepared by dissolving one part by weight of dry crystal of copper sulphate according to GOST 4165 in five weight parts of distilled water and neutralized with an excess of freshly precipitated hydrate of copper oxide. After neutralization the solution should be filtered. The density of the filtered neutralized solution should be 1,114−1,116 g/cm.
The temperature of the solution of copper sulphate during the test must be (18±2) °C.
The test procedure shall be the following:
a) take samples of the wire length of 150 mm, washed with alcohol, gasoline or benzene. If the samples are washed with petrol or benzene, to produce additional rinsing them with distilled water and wipe to remove moisture;
b) immerse the samples in a solution of copper sulphate to a depth of not less than 100 mm. Specimens shall be immersed for exactly 1 min. If set to dip to 30, it should be done after diving for 1 minute After each immersion in the solution samples immediately washed with distilled water and wipe with a clean cloth. The number of samples simultaneously immersed in the solution should not be more than 6.
Samples of wire must be copper sulfate solution in a stationary state, not in contact with each other and with the walls of the vessel.
The number of samples of wire to the test in the same solution of copper sulphate with a volume of 200 ml is shown below.
Wire diameter, mm | The number of samples. | ||||
From | 0,20 | to | 0,50 | 100 | |

If after a set number of dives in the solution on the surface of the wire specimen will be the areas covered with copper, which, when wiping the sample with cotton wool or a clean cloth, then the sample is considered to be not stand the test. The samples are examined with the naked eye.
Samples are considered to pass the test when:
a) redness of the sample surface of the test wire at a section located at a distance of 10 mm from the solution level and at a distance of 20 mm from the immersed in the solution the lower end of the sample;
b) brown color and the redness of point character, disappearing or increasing in size and brightness with additional immersion of the sample in a copper sulfate solution for 1−2 s.
