Werkstoff Nr. 2,4361 and 2,4360. Trade general names of alloy: Monel 400 ®, Nicorros 4241 ®, Nickelvac ® 400. Chemical purity of alloy makes it a material that possesses high resistance to various aggressive environments. Monel 400 is copper-nickel alloy. It is hardened at cold condition. Alloy possesses low corrosion speed in seawater. Due to this, it is widely used in marine conditions. It also has perfect resistance to corrosion cracking in freshwater under stress. Monel 400 can be also utilized at temperature of up to 537 °C. Besides, alloy possesses high mechanical properties at sub-zero temperature.
Monel 400 mill-products
Currently, mill-products of this alloy are represented with the further types: rod, welded and seamless tube, wire, plate, sheet, flange, fitting, and forging. Thickness of sheet is 0.5 - 4 mm. Rod is made in a form of forging. Diameter is not more than 280 mm. The bigger sizes can be made to order. Coiled material is made in large-format sizes. Its widths can constitute up to 610 mm. Plate width is up to 75 mm. Seamless tube Monel 400 can be rolled to a diameter of not more than 200 mm. The huge diameters can be made to order in the form of welded tube. All products (with a welded seam) undergo a method of nondestructive control with tight tolerances. Approximately, tubes can be manufactured of any diameter. An extent of allowance does not depend on order quantity.
