General characteristics
Strip, sheet, foil HN38WT are made of heat-resisting high-alloyed carbon steel. Nickel (34−38%), iron (38−47%), chrome (14−16%) constitute its composition. HN38WT is alloyed with titanium (1,1−1,5%), copper (<0,25%), mangan (1-2%), wolframium (2,3-3,5%), molybdenum (<0,3%). At the beginning jumping-up temperature of a steel is 1170°C; in the end a temperature is 850°C. Steel of this grade relates to a category of constructional steels. They serve for manufacture of various mechanisms and details of different complicated building constructions that work in aggressive conditions. It is necessary to do a previous heating to 200-300°С with a final annealing in order to increase reliability of seams.

Hot-rolled thick sheet (4−160 mm) is made according to GOST 24982−81. Thin sheets (0,5−3,9 mm) are made with a help of cold-rolling method. Its widths constitutes 710−1800 mm. Sheet stock can be exposed to a heat treatment. It differs with hardness, good wearing quality, corrosive resistance. It is relatively not very expensive. High wearing quality, heat resistance, immunity to effect of aggressive environment allow using it in spheres where a work is connected with a contact of hot aggressive environments.

Application
This heat-resisting alloy is used for details of high-temperature installations that operate in mechanical engineering and petrochemical industry. It is also used in heat-resisting sheets and fixing devices that work at moderate stress at a temperature of <850°C. If a temperature is higher than 850°C, there appears an active oxide scale formation. Such constructions are needed in installations of petrochemical, oil, gas industries. They are also used at thermal power plants.
