2.2 The rods are supplied in a heat-treated (hardened) condition. Recommended mode: hardening from a temperature of (1020-1100) °C, cooling in water or air. Hardening may be carried out from the temperature of the end of rolling. It is allowed to adjust the heat treatment mode to ensure the standards of mechanical properties and grain size. The actual heat treatment mode is specified in the quality document.

2.3 Mechanical properties determined at room and elevated temperatures must meet the requirements of Table 2.

Note: 1 It is permitted to supply rods with a special surface finish with a diameter of less than 10 mm with a relative elongation of at least 15% (at room temperature) in five heats, after which the standards are specified.

2.4 Local defects on the surface of hot-rolled bars are not allowed if their depth exceeds 50% of the sum of maximum deviations. The depth of occurrence of defects is calculated from the actual size.

2.5 The surface quality of rods with special surface finishing must comply with group "G" of GOST 14955.

2.6 The macrostructure must not have shrinkage cavities and looseness, cracks, slag inclusions, crusts, delaminations visible without the use of magnifying devices. Permissible defects of the macrostructure must not exceed:

central porosity - 1 point;

point heterogeneity - 1 point;

liquation square - 1 point;

Layered crystallization and increased etchability square are not a rejection feature.

2.7 Grain size is not larger than 7 points.

C.5

TU 14-131-1134-2014

2.8 The content of non-metallic inclusions according to the maximum score should not exceed:

line oxides (OS) - 2.0 points;

point oxides (PO) - 2.0 points;

brittle silicates (SC) - 2.0 points;

plastic silicates (SP) - 1.0 points;

non-deformable silicates (SN) - 1.0 points;

sulfides (C) - 1.0 points;

nitrides and carbonitrides, row (NS) - 3.0 points;
