This standard applies to cold drawn carbon steel wire of circular cross-section for products manufactured by cold heading.

1. BASIC PARAMETERS AND DIMENSIONS
1.1. The wire is divided
for precision manufacturing:

1.2. Wire shall be manufactured with a diameter from 1.0 to 6.0 mm. the nominal diameter of the wire should correspond to series R40 according to GOST 2771.
On demand of the consumer is allowed to produce a wire of intermediate size that are multiples of 0.05 mm.

1.3. Tolerances for diameter shall be as specified in table.1.

1.4. The roundness of the wire must not exceed half of the maximum deviations in diameter.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
2.1. Carbon steel wire for cold heading shall be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.

2.2. Wire shall be manufactured from steel grades: 08, 08KP, 08ps, 10, 10kp, 10ps, 15, 15kp, 15ps, 20, 20kp, 20ps, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 GOST 10702.

2.3. On the surface of wire should be free of cracks, shells, sunsets, bundles, wooloowin, dirt and rust.
On the surface of the wire allowed a separate dents, nicks a depth of not more than 0.5, the maximum deviations in diameter, some minor scratches and the risks of mechanical origin with a depth of not more than 0.25, the maximum deviations in diameter.

2.4. Mechanical properties the wire shall conform to the standards specified in table.2.

Note. It is possible to produce wire from steel grades 08, 08KP, 08ps, 10, 10kp, 10ps class 1 tensile 420−570 N/mm(43−58 kg/mm).

2.5. The macrostructure of the wire should not have shrinkage looseness, blistering, delamination, internal cracks, slag inclusions.
In the macrostructure of the wire from the boiling steel grades is not permitted exudation square opening to the surface.
2.6. The microstructure of wire of steel grades 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 should consist of ferrite and granular pearlite. Allowed lamellar perlite (20%) not more than 5 score on scale 9 GOST 8233.
2.7. Overall depth bezoperatsionnogo layer (ferrite+transition zone) wire of steel with a mass fraction of carbon is 0.30% or more steel grades 30, 35, 40, 45 should not exceed 1.5% per side.
The zone of complete decarburization should not exceed 1/3 of the total depth bezoperatsionnogo layer.
At the request of the consumer on the wire intended for the production of threaded rod termouprochnennyh fasteners, complete decarburization is not allowed.

2.8. Wire diameter is 3.0 mm or more to withstand upset in a cold state to ½ or 1/3 of the original height of the sample. The degree of precipitation is determined by the consumer.
The wire diameter is less than 3.0 mm precipitation in a cold state should be subjected to deep etching.
By agreement between manufacturer and consumer wire of diameter 3.0 mm and over must be able to withstand draught of cold to ¼ of its original height.
Wire of high accuracy of the first class must endure the draught in the cold state up to 1/3 of the original height of the sample.

2.9. Wire shall be manufactured in reels. A coil of wire must consist of one segment.
Wire in skeins must be wound separatornyi turns. The ends of the wire on the roll must be neatly stacked and easy to find.
2.10. Weight of wire on a reel shall not be less than:
30 kg for wire diameter 4.0 mm incl.;
50 kg — for wires with a diameter of over 4.0 mm.
It is possible to produce coils weighing 50% less than that specified, in an amount up to 10% of the party.
3. ACCEPTANCE RULES
3.1. Wire take parties. The party should consist of wire of the same diameter, one steel, one bottoms, one group of exactly one degree precipitation and issued a document about quality that contains:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
the room melt;
batch number;
the weight of the party;
chemical composition of steel;
the results of the tests;
the symbol wire.
Instead of the results of the tests are allowed on agreement with the consumer to specify: «Products meet NTD».

3.2. Verification of dimensions and surface quality of wire is on each reel.
3.3. From party wire selected 5% of the skeins, but at least three for testing mechanical properties, precipitation or deep etching and three coils to control the microstructure and decarburization.

3.4. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators it is carried out re-tests on twice the number of skeins has not being tested. The results of repeated tests spread to the entire party.
4. TEST METHODS
4.1. To control the mechanical properties, microstructure, decarburization, precipitation is taken one sample from one end of a coil, testing of deep etching — one sample with the two ends of a coil.

4.2. Diameter and ovality of wire check with a micrometer according to GOST 6507 or GOST 4381 in two mutually perpendicular directions of the same cross-section in at least three areas of a coil.
4.3. The quality of the wire surface check visually allowed the use of a magnifying glass a fivefold increase. The depth of the defect is determined by the sweep. The location of the defect cleaned with sandpaper or a file with the subsequent comparative measure of wire in the stripped and unstripped areas.
Allowed determination of the depth of the defect is performed by means of a microscope of any type.

4.4. Test wire tensile is carried out according to GOST 10446.
4.5. The macrostructure of the wire makes sure the document about the quality of the manufacturing of steel.
4.6. The microstructure of the wire test according to GOST 8233.
4.7. Test wire on sediment is carried out according to GOST 8817.
4.8. Test wire for the deep etching is carried out by the following procedure:
samples of wire of not less than 250 mm is etched in a solution of hydrochloric acid (1:1) or about 15% strength sulfuric acid solution at a temperature of 60−80 °C for 8−10 min, then washed and dried, and then subjected to a visual inspection without the use of magnifying devices. The surface of the etched specimens shall conform to the requirements of section 2.3 of this standard. Deep etching is allowed to carry out by other methods, approved in the prescribed manner, subject to obtaining the identical etching results.
4.9. The chemical composition of the wire shall be certified by a document of quality of the manufacturer of the steel.
4.10. Depth bezoperatsionnogo layer is determined according to the method of M GOST 1763.

4.11. Weighing of packages in the party, and if necessary, the coils should be produced weights according to GOST 29329, or other scales, providing weighing accuracy to 1%.

5. PACKING, MARKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
5.1. Rolls of barbed wire shall be tied with annealed wire churchyard 3282 or other normative and technical documentation in at least three places evenly spaced around the circumference of the rolls.

5.2. Coils of wire of the same size, one brand, one melting and one group accuracy allowed to associate in the Bay.
5.3. Rolls of barbed wire must be lubricated with the liquid layer of inhibited lubrication type NG-203 for OST 38.01436 or K-17 GOST 10877. Allowed to apply the lubricant of a different type, providing protection against corrosion and will not cause clumping of the wire.

5.4. Rolls of barbed wire should be wrapped with a layer of paper, then a layer of polymeric film or fabric binding packaging.
In mechanised packing of rolls of barbed wire should be wrapped with a layer of paper 10396 churchyard or paper stamps KMV-170 according to normative-technical documentation or other crepe paper, equal in protective qualities, is made according to normative-technical documentation, or a polymeric film with a securing package.
The quality of packaging materials used:
the waxed paper according to GOST 9569; it allowed the use of double-layer wrapping paper according to GOST 8828, oiled paper of grade A according to GOST 8273 or other paper that protect the wire from corrosion, is made according to normative-technical documentation;
the polymeric film according to GOST 10354, 16272 GOST and other normative and technical documentation;
container holstoproshivny the canvas according to normative-technical documentation;
fabric wrapping for technical purposes — according to GOST 5530; fabric of chemical fibers according to normative-technical documentation;
other types of packaging materials according to normative-technical documentation, precluding the use of fabrics made of natural fibers and does not deteriorate the quality of a stitched flap from the waste of the textile industry.
Wire that is sent to the far North and equated to them, are Packed in accordance with GOST 15846.

5.5. By agreement between manufacturer and consumer is allowed to produce a lubricant, or packing, or grease, and packaging.

5.6. Weight per package should be no more than 200 kg are allowed upon the customer’s request weight per package of not more than 80 kg, and in coordination with the consumer — not more than 1000 kg.
Consolidation packages in the transport packet is performed according to GOST 21650, GOST 24597.

5.7. To each coils (the coil) of wire attached to the label, which indicate:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
symbol wire;
batch number;
the mark of the technical control Department.

5.9. Wire is transported by all kinds of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with cargo carriage regulations applicable to transport of this species. The placement and fastening of cargo in rail vehicles must comply with the technical conditions of loading and fastening of cargoes, approved by the Ministry of Railways of the USSR.
Transportation by rail is carriages, light trucks and small shipments.
Allowed the transport of wire in universal containers according to GOST 15102,20435 GOST, GOST 22225.
By agreement with the consumer allowed transportation of oiled and Packed wire open transport.
