Technical characteristics
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. Zinc content can vary from 2.5 to 45%. Brass that contains 5−20% of zinc called red brass. Brass that contains 20−36% of zinc is called yellow brass. As a rule, brass that contains more than 40% of zinc is used rarely. Zinc is cheaper than copper, that is why its presence gives improving of mechanical properties and decrease in value of final product.
