3 Definitions

3.1 laying of a coil, the coil: Position of coil wire, cut from the roll.

Note — Well coiled wire lies flat in the same rings. Helically wound wire tends sprijinit in the form of a spiral. A straight wire when otmuchivanie from the roll lies in a straight line.

3.2 cold drawn wire: carbon steel Wire obtained by drawing with large reduction from heat-treated (patenting or similar process) of the workpiece.

3.3 oil-hardened and tempered wire: Wire of high carbon and low-alloy steel produced by heating to a temperature above the transformation temperature, quenching in oil re-heating or tempering to reduce the hardness obtained by quenching.

3.4 static mode of work: working Conditions in which the springs are subjected to static or rare dynamic stress or their combinations.

Note — This does not apply to cases of application of low frequency high loads.

3.5 dynamic mode of work: working Conditions, when the springs are subjected to frequent dynamic loads.

3.6 round: One turn of the wire of the coil, i.e., one complete ring of wire.

Note — a Coil of wire does not imply a certain length of wire.

3.7 patenting: Heat treatment in which the wire rod or wire is cooled with a high speed from a temperature above the temperature of formation of martensite.

The purpose of rapid cooling is to obtain a pearlitic structure in which a high percentage of compression during the subsequent cold deformation.

Note — the Required structure can be obtained by heat treatment of wire rod, or be a direct result of the conditions of controlled cooling from the rolling heat.

4 ordering

Ordering on the wire must include:

the part number of this standard;

type of wire;

nominal wire diameter and class of tolerance on the diameter;

the desired size of a coil;

the desired form surface;

the required quantity and delivery terms;

view acceptance document (see 7.12).

Note — Any special or additional requirement to this part of the standard should be agreed between customer and supplier when requesting or ordering.

5 Status of finished wire

The wire does not need to have internal and surface defects that have a negative impact on its subsequent processing or end use.

6 dimensional Tolerances

The tolerances on the wire diameter and the maximum ovality shall be as given in the table.

7 Control and testing

7.1 General

By agreement reached during the ordering may be represented by one of the documents in accordance with GOST 7565. If you want to conduct additional monitoring or testing, it must comply with the requirements of PP. 7.2−7.10.

7.2 the Selection and preparation of samples and specimens for testing

In the selection and preparation of samples and specimens for testing should be guided by the General terms and conditions, specified in GOST 7564.

Samples for testing should be selected from the end of the strand.

7.3 Chemical analysis

Chemical analysis should be conducted with the dispute in accordance with the requirements of the relevant international standards.

In the absence of relevant international standards methods of chemical analysis shall be determined by agreement in the order.

7.4 tensile Test

The tensile test shall be carried out in accordance with GOST 10446.

Interim resistance should be calculated using the actual diameter of the wire.

7.5 Test narrowing

The test of reduction shall be conducted in accordance with GOST 10446.

7.6 Test winding

A test winding shall be carried out in accordance with GOST 10447.

7.7 torsion Testing

Torsion testing should be conducted according to the requirements of GOST 1545.

7.8 the bend Test

The bend test shall be carried out in accordance with GOST 1579.

7.9 the measurement of the diameter

The maximum and minimum diameters should be measured with a micrometer in one section on the rectified phase cut wire.

7.10 quality control Methods surface

7.10.1 Test for deep etching for detecting defects

Test deep etching must be carried out for a wire nominal diameter of 1.0 mm or more. Before the test, deep etch test specimens of cold drawn wire should be treated to relieve stresses. Cold test specimens shall be immersed in the solution, representing a mixture of 50% concentrated hydrochloric acid (density 1,19 g/cmГОСТ Р 50566-93 (ИСО 8458-1-89) Проволока стальная для механических пружин. Общие требования) and 50% water at a minimum temperature of 75 °C. the Etching should be completed after reducing the diameter by approximately 1%.

The differences should be used metallographic examination (see 7.10.3).

7.10.2 Metallographic examination to measure the decarburization

Cross section samples taken from the roll should be examined for decarburization in accordance with GOST 1763. The cross section should be explored if the increase is not less than 100ГОСТ Р 50566-93 (ИСО 8458-1-89) Проволока стальная для механических пружин. Общие требования.

Decarburization is determined only for wire with a diameter of more than 0.75 mm.

7.10.3 Metallographic examination for measuring surface defects

Cross section samples taken from the roll should be examined for the presence of surface defects by metallographic studies and used research method should be determined by agreement between the purchaser and the supplier.
