These technical conditions apply to rods with a special surface finish made of precision alloy grade 42KhNM, smelted in open induction furnaces and grade 42KhNM-Sh, smelted in open induction furnaces with subsequent electroslag remelting.

1. ASSORTMENT

1.1. Rods are supplied with a diameter of 8÷10 mm.

1.2. In terms of shape, dimensions and maximum deviations, the rods must comply with GOST 14955, quality h11.

1.3. The length of the rods is not shorter than 500 mm.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1. The chemical composition of the alloy must comply with the requirements of Table 1.

2.2. The rods are supplied in a heat-treated condition.

2.3. Mechanical properties determined in the as-delivered condition at room temperature on longitudinal samples cut from rods are given in Table 2.

NOTES: 1. Permissible deviation in the mass fraction of chromium is ± 0.05%.

2. Cerium is added to the alloy in the range of 0.02-0.2% and magnesium in the range of

0.01-0.03% and is not determined by chemical analysis.

3. The alloy is allowed to contain a residual mass fraction of titanium of no more than 0.25%.

4. The mass fraction of nitrogen and cobalt in the alloy is controlled. Results

control are entered into the quality document.

2.4. The contamination of the alloy with non-metallic inclusions when assessed according to the maximum score should not exceed:

Oxides (OK, OT) - 1 point

Silicates (CX, SP) - 1 point

Sulfides (C) - 1 point

Nitrides (NS, NT) - 3 points

2.5. Grain size as delivered 7-11 points.

2.6. The surface quality of the rods must correspond to group "B" according to GOST 14955.

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES AND TEST METHODS

3.1. General acceptance rules - in accordance with GOST 7566.

3.2. Rods are accepted in batches. A batch must consist of rods of the same heat and the same size.

3.3. Each rod is subject to geometric dimension control.

The diameter of the rods is measured with a micrometer according to GOST 6507, a clamp according to GOST 2216, a caliper according to GOST 166, the length with a metal ruler according to GOST 427 or other measuring instruments of the required accuracy.

3.4. Sampling for chemical analysis is carried out in accordance with GOST 7565.

Chemical analysis is carried out according to GOST 12344 - GOST 12350, GOST 12352-GOST 12354, GOST 12356, GOST 12357, GOST 12359, GOST 28473, GOST 29095 or other methods that ensure the accuracy of determination.

3.5. Mechanical properties are tested on 2 samples in accordance with GOST 1497.

3.6. Control of contamination with non-metallic inclusions is carried out on 6 samples according to GOST 1778, method Ш4.

3.7. Grain size control is carried out on 2 samples in accordance with GOST 5639.

3.8. Electroslag melting includes ingots smelted from one initial melt.

When remelting three consumable electrodes, it is permitted to assemble consumable electrodes from three original melts.

4. PACKAGING, MARKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

4.1. Packaging, labeling, transportation and storage in accordance with GOST 14955.

1 Section 2, item 2.1, table 1: add a column "Nitrogen" with a mass fraction of 0.05-0.15%.

2 Section 2, paragraph 2.1, table 1, note 1 shall be written in the new version:

"1 The maximum deviation for the mass fraction of chromium is plus or minus 0.5%, nitrogen is minus 0.02%."

3 Section 2, paragraph 2.1, Table 1, note 4: delete the words "nitrogen and".

4 Section 2, paragraph 2.2 shall be set out as follows:
