Technical characteristics
Ti 6−2-4−6 is one of the most consistent, heat-resistant titanium alloys. It has higher cost than other titanium alloys. It is developed in order to combine thermal resistance of Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo with a high level of strength. A presence of aluminium promotes increasing of strength and heat resistance of alloy. Additives of molybdenum or vanadium stabilize small amount of β-phase.

Ti 6−2-4−6 alloy has high module of elasticity at tension. It possesses good weldability, excellent resistance to creep at operating temperature of up to 450 °C in an aggressive environment. Ti 6−2-4−6 has high level of corrosive resistance as all titanium alloys.
Impact hardness
Impact hardness is optimal in a temperature range of 200−300°C. The other mechanical properties are not changed notably. If a temperature raises higher than 500 °C, impact hardness greatly reduces. It is caused by redistribution of oxygen and nitrogen between grain boundaries. It leads to loss of mechanical properties.
