Advantages
Wrought aluminum B65 is very well processed, can be welded by spot welding, has sufficient plasticity and strength. Resistance to corrosion is greatly enhanced by oxidation. Cold deformation or heat treatment is used for hardening. The main advantage of the material is its plasticity and ease of machining.
Heat treatment
The heat treatment of rolled steel is done by annealing at temperatures up to 350 °C. After annealing, excellent ductility is achieved and, after aging, considerable self-strengthening. Annealing. The alloy is heated to 350°C and upon cooling acquires the flexibility similar to pure aluminum. After the aging process, hardness and toughness become the leading properties. To accomplish natural aging, approximately 24 hours and a working t° of 20 degrees Celsius are required. Artificial aging requires a higher temperature, but much less time. Upon completion of treatment, B65 becomes a sufficiently reliable material that can be used under high loads.
