Introduction
This standard is designed instead an interstate standard GOST 30245−2003c using domestic and foreign experience in the use of closed roll-formed shapes of rectangular and square section.
Compared to GOST 30245−2003 in this standard:
— introduced a classification of profiles according to the classes strength, cold resistance and resistance to corrosion;
— to expand the assortment of pipes: overall dimensions of a profile to 500x500 mm for square profiles, 500x300 mm for rectangular sections and wall thickness — up to 22.0 mm;
— additionally, the possibility of production of pipes with the definition of carbon equivalent, with purified from the slag surface, with a temporary preservative coating.
1 Scope
This standard applies to steel bent closed welded square and rectangular profiles, then profiles intended for structural steelwork.
Profiles are produced from rolled sheet metal by forming it in specialized mills circular hollow sections with a longitudinal weld and subsequent compression rolls in a square or rectangular profile made of carbon and low-alloy steel obtained by the method of electric arc or melting of the Converter with secondary processing, ensuring the modification of nonmetallic inclusions.

4 Assortment
4.1 Cross-section profiles must match what is specified: figure 1 for square profiles and in figure 2 for rectangular sections.
