Preface
The objectives and principles of standardization in the Russian Federation established by the Federal law of 27 December 2002 N 184-FZ «On technical regulation», and rules for the application of national standards of the Russian Federation — GOST R 1.0−2004 «Standardization in the Russian Federation. The main provisions"
Data on standard
1 PREPARED by the Federal state institution «Scientific-educational center «welding and control» at MGTU im. N. Uh. Bauman (FGU «NORSK» at MSTU. N. Uh. Bauman), the National Agency for control and welding (NAKS) on the basis of their own authentic translation into the Russian language of the international standard indicated in paragraph 4
2 SUBMITTED by the Technical Committee for standardization TC 364 «welding and allied processes"
3 APPROVED AND put INTO EFFECT by the Federal Agency for technical regulation and Metrology dated 30 November 2011 No. 663-St
4 this standard is identical with ISO 9016:2001* «Destructive testing of welds of metallic materials. Shock test. The location of the sample for test, the orientation of the incision and the test» (ISO 9016:2001 «Destructive tests on welds in metallic materials — Impact tests — Test specimen location, notch orientation and examination»).

The name of this standard changed with respect to names specified international standard for compliance with GOST R 1.5 (3.5).
In applying this standard it is recommended to use instead of the referenced international standards corresponding national standards of the Russian Federation, details of which are given in Appendix YES
5 INTRODUCED FOR THE FIRST TIME
Information about the changes to this standard is published in the annually issued reference index «National standards», and the text changes and amendments — in monthly indexes published information «National standards». In case of revision (replacement) or cancellation of this standard a notification will be published in a monthly information index «National standards». Relevant information, notification and lyrics are also posted in the information system of General use — on the official website of the Federal Agency for technical regulation and Metrology on the Internet
1 Scope
This standard specifies the method of designation of specimens cut from the weld joint to test the impact strength, depending on their location in the welded joint and the orientation of the incision, as well as requirements for testing and registration of test results.
The standard applies to all welded metal structures when testing the impact strength of butt welded joints made by fusion welding.
2 Normative references
This standard used the reference standard the following international standard*:

ISO 148:1983* Steel. The test impact strength Charpy method (test samples with a V-shaped cut)
ISO 148:1983 Steel-Charpy impact test (V-notch)

* Replaced by ISO 148−1:2009.
3 test Method
Impact test bend shall be conducted in accordance with ISO 148. Temperature test, location of test samples in the weld joint, the orientation of the incision, the type and dimensions of samples are determined by corresponding standards on the test.
In addition to the requirements of ISO 148 marking the position of the incision can be made on the macrosections.
4 Methods of notation
4.1 Composition notation
The designation consists of the alphanumeric characters. Letters indicate the location, shape and orientation of the cut, numbers indicate the distance (in millimeters) from baseline (RL) from the axis of the incision and the distance from the front surface of a welded joint to the surface of the test specimen. The method of designation shown in tables 1 and 2. Samples cut across a monitored welded joint.

4.2 character Values
Characters in marking have the following meanings:
— 1st symbol: U — a sample with U-shaped incision,
V — pattern with the V-shaped cut;
— 2-th character of the W — notch in the weld metal, the base line is the axis of the weld,
N — notch in the heat affected zone; reference line passes through the fusing line (an incision includes the heat-affected zone);
— 3rd symbol: S — cut on the surface of the sample parallel to the front surface* welded connection
_______________
* This orientation of the notch is equivalent to the symbol «a cut surface» used in mechanical tensile testing.
T — incision on the surface of the sample perpendicular to the front surface of a welded joint;
— 4th symbol: — distance from the baseline to the axis of the incision (if an incision is made along the base line (RL), 0, as specified in the designation);
— 5th character: — distance from the front surface of a welded joint* to the nearest surface of the sample (if the sample surface coincides with the outer surface of the welded connection, 0, which is specified in the designation).
_______________
* When double-sided welding for the front side of the welded connection take the side with the largest width of the weld or the side that was welded first.
4.3 Additional information
In cases where you want more accurately indicate the location or orientation of the incision is developed in the explanatory note.
5 Examples of designations
Examples of designations are given in tables 1 and 2 and figure 1.

6 test Procedure
Samples cut under this standard, shall be tested in accordance with ISO 148.
7 test report
The test report shall include the following information, in addition to the one specified in ISO 148:
a) reference to this standard;
b) marking of the sample;
c) sketch, if required;
d) the type and dimensions of defects in the fracture;
e) other information, if required applicable standards for test and/or agreement with partners.
