3 APPROVED AND put INTO EFFECT by the Federal Agency for technical regulation and Metrology of 9 July 2010 N 174-St
4 this standard is modified in relation to the international standard ISO 377:1997 «Steel and steel products. The sampling and preparation for mechanical testing» (ISO 377:1997 «Steel and steel products — Location and preparation of samples and test pieces for mechanical testing») by changes in certain phrases, words, links that are highlighted in italics*; by changing the content of individual structural elements, which are indicated by a vertical line situated on the margins of the text.
_______________
* In the original paper designation and number of standards in the section «Normative references» in italics, the rest on the text given in normal font. — Note the manufacturer’s database.
The standard includes additional applications DA, DB and DV, providing requirements for the selection of samples for testing on sediment and cold bending, as well as recommendations on where cuttings samples, blanks for samples and test samples with respect to the direction of rolling along the length of rental and the minimum distance from the end of the product in the event of a dispute.
The standard does not include requirements for pipe products in connection with various types of test pipes for domestic and foreign documents as well as links to ISO 3785:2006 and ISO 6929:1987 used in the international standard that is prematurely applied in the Russian national standardization due to different terminology in the classification of products and axis orientation of the samples that do not affect requirements for the sampling of blanks for samples and test samples.
These technical deviations have been made for the consideration of the peculiarities of national standardization

4 General requirements for the sampling of blanks for samples and test samples
4.1 Representative test
Samples, blanks and test samples the samples taken in accordance with the provisions of annexes A, B and DA, should be considered to be representative for production.
Note — Technological processes of manufacture of hire, namely: smelting, hot and cold pressure treatment, heat treatment, etc. may not provide homogeneity of the metal structure. Therefore, the mechanical properties of rolled samples collected from the different production sites, may be different.
4.2 Marking of the control unit, the sample, blank sample and test sample
The test piece sample, blank sample and test sample must be marked in order to be able to track from which source party rental, where and with what orientation they were selected. If the clipping samples, blanks for samples and/or test samples to avoid the removal of marking is impossible, it should be moved or be applied again in the manufacture of the test sample for automated equipment. During testing and at the request of the customer transfer code should be executed in the presence of his representative.
When used for the manufacture of test specimens and testing fully automated equipment the markings on the samples, blanks for samples and testing samples can not apply because in this case, use a test system that eliminates erroneous results.
4.3 Samples (blanks for samples, test samples) are selected so that the selection location and orientation of test specimens taken from them, correspond to: depending on the type of test rental applications B I YES; — in relation to the hire length — the app DB, and in case of disagreement the application DV. Requirements for sampling (blanks for samples, test samples) can be specified in other documents for hire. Note — With the aim of reducing losses of metal due to the established practice standard for the rental, if it is acceptable from a technical point of view, to regulate the possibility of using transverse test specimens is longitudinal (reforged samples) to check the values for the longitudinal test specimens. On the test sample, designed to test the impact strength, the longitudinal axis of the incision should be perpendicular to the direction of rolling. 4.4 the size of the sample should be sufficient to make preparations for samples (making test specimens) required for a particular test. |
If necessary, the size of the sample should be sufficient for re-testing.

5 Selection and preparation of samples (blanks for samples) and the test conditions of mechanical properties
5.1 the Sample shall be selected in such a way that requirements regarding the provisions stipulated in annexes B and YES, it could be done. The size of the sample should be sufficient to produce the required amount stipulated by the tests of the samples and, as appropriate, testing of samples for re-testing.
5.2 the Direction of the longitudinal axis of the test piece relative to the main direction of deformation of the product must match the specified in the documentation for rental or purchase.
5.3 documentation for the hire must be provided in what state should determine its mechanical properties:
a) delivery condition (5.4) or
b) in the control condition (5.5).
5.4 Testing in the state of delivery
For tests of hire on delivery, the sample (blank samples) are selected from:
a) after forming and final heat treatment or
b) before heat treatment.
In the latter case, the sample must undergo a heat treatment under the same conditions as the rental.
The separation of the sample properties in the part, which needs to be cut, the test samples compared to the rental shall not be altered.
If the production of the test specimens fails to avoid deformation (curvature) of the sample, the edit should be carried out in cold condition, if the documentation of the rental is not otherwise provided.
5.5 Test in the control condition
5.5.1 Sample
A sample intended for testing in the control condition, separated from the control unit to rent in the ready state, which is provided in the documentation for hire.
Sampling should be performed so that the mechanical properties of rolled after heat treatment in the part of the sample (blank sample), which is intended for the manufacture of test specimens has not changed.
Note — If necessary edit, it can be performed before heat treatment in hot or cold condition. If the sample (blank sample) subjected to editing in the hot state, it should be performed at a temperature below the final temperature of heat treatment of rolled.
5.5.2 Blank sample
Blank sample intended for testing in the control condition, should be prepared:
a) machining before heat treatment.
If the size of the sample needs to be reduced before carrying out the heat treatment, the size, which handle the workpiece for a sample, and methods used for this give it the desired shape (for example, forging, rolling, machining) should be specified in the rental document;
b) heat treatment.
Heat treatment of the workpiece for the sample must be performed under conditions which provide sufficiently uniform heating, and the temperature of the workpiece sample is measured by a calibrated way. Heat treatment regime must meet the requirements of the documentation on the car.
For the blank sample must not be subjected to a predetermined heat treatment more than once, except for holiday, which can be repeated in a predetermined temperature range. For any re-test should select a new blank sample.
5.6 Selection and preparation of test samples for testing the mechanical properties
5.6.1 Cutting and machining
Fabricating test specimens should be cold, observing precautions to avoid surface hardening and overheating of hire, which can change its mechanical properties.
The traces left by a tool after machining, which could affect the results of the tests must be repaired by grinding (with abundant coolant supply) or polishing, provided that the selected method of surface finishing does not take the size and shape of test specimen for limit deviations regulated by the standard for the relevant test.
5.6.2 Shape, dimensions and limit deviations of the dimensions of the test samples must comply with GOST 1497, GOST 7268, GOST 9454, GOST 9651 and GOST 11701. 6 Sampling and preparation of test samples for testing on sediment longs
