This standard specifies the requirements for acceptance, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage steel cast iron pipes and fittings to them.

1. MARKING
1.1. Marking of steel pipes
1.1.1. The marking is applied on each pipe with a diameter of 159 mm with wall thickness of 3.5 mm or more. At the request of the customer can be marking each pipe with a diameter of 114 mm. depending on diameter and wall thickness of pipe marking is applied by stamping, electric pencil or rubber stamp (with permanent ink), electrogram or indelible ink.
Marking of tubes is carried out at a distance of not more than 500 mm and not less than 20 mm from the end and encircle or underline a bright color.
Marking of pipes with diameter up to 159 mm, inclusive, the pipe having a bright surface, as well as cold-deformed tubes in packets, is applied to the label. Labeling of cold-deformed pipes with diameter up to 450 mm inclusive, bundled into packages, allowed to put on the label and the three tubes of each package.
The marking shall include pipe size, grade of steel, the trademark or the name and trademark of the manufacturer. When the marking engine is permitted to designate a steel grade of four-digit numerical code in accordance with all-Union classification of products.
At the request of the consumer marking of pipes from alloyed grades of steel, stainless steel, boilers, etc. shall additionally contain the melting room and the room of the pipe.
Marking for seamless pipes with a diameter of 351−550 mm is applied with a branding and must additionally contain:
the number of standard or normative and technical documentation;
room tubes;
the lot number or melt;
the thickness of the wall;
the mark of the technical control Department.
The number of standard or normative and technical documentation are allowed to apply paint, which should not be sticky and wash off. Pipe with a diameter of 530 mm and more, it is allowed to mark on the internal surface.
Pipe wall thickness of 10 mm or more is allowed to mark the marking on the pipe end. The end tubes at the outer surface, on the face of which is marked with bright paint in the form of arcs or semicircles.

1.1.2. When marking stamps character height marking must be 5, 6, 8, 10, 15, 30 mm and a width of 3−12 mm. Marking the marking located in the perimeter or along the pipe. Apply marking paint along the pipe.
The marking must be performed in accordance with GOST 14192.
Mechanized method of marking the marking is allowed to be positioned at a distance of not more than 1500 mm and not less than 100 mm from the pipe end.
Additional marking of pipes for special purposes: exploration, drilling, for gas pipelines and other is conducted in accordance with regulatory and technical documentation for the respective types of pipes.
At the request of the consumer for pipes with a diameter of 10 mm or more with a light surface (stainless steel) at a distance of not more than 50 mm from the end is marked with an electric pencil or rubber stamp (permanent paint) or otherwise in accordance with the requirements of normative-technical documentation on the data pipe.

1.1.3. Each package or wooden crate, which is Packed in tubes for the needs of the national economy, should have a label according to GOST 14192 containing the designation of the standard or NTD, pipe size, grade of steel, and at the request of the consumer the melting number, batch number, weight or length of pipe in meters, the trademark or the name and trademark of the manufacturer. Marking on a label applied with branding, electrography, stamp, indelible ink or by another method ensuring the quality of its performance.

1.1.6. The package of tubes or containers with a length of 6 m or more should have two labels that are attached to the two ends of the package or container.
The marking is applied in Russian or foreign language, specified in the agreement (contract) provider with foreign trade organization.
The marking on the package is applied in accordance with GOST 14192 with main, additional and informational inscriptions performed by indelible ink on the label, securely attached to the load.

1.1.7. Labelling of containers for tubes that are sent to countries with tropical climate or through the zone of tropical climate, applied paint on both sides at a distance of 1−2 m from the end with the sign «Tropical packaging» according to GOST 14192.

1.2. Marking of cast iron tubes
1.2.1. On the face or forming surface of the socket casting put the marks containing the trademark of the manufacturer, year of manufacture, nominal size in millimeters.

1.2.2. For each pipe diameter greater than 150 mm, the transported water and a mixed message for the needs of the national economy, have to be marked with indelible paint on the stencil or stamp to contain the port (station) of destination, the trademark or name of the manufacturer and trademark, name of the consumer. For pipes with a diameter up to 150 mm inclusive, linked in packages marked on the label attached on two sides of the package.

1.2.3. Marking of pipes for export must additionally contain: the words «Country of origin and (or) supplier"* the name of a foreign economic organization, the contract number (contract) of a supplier with foreign trade organization, nominal diameter and class of pipes, as well as other additional marking at the request of foreign economic organizations. Marked in Russian or foreign languages (in accordance with the agreement (contract) supplier external organization):
for pipes with a nominal bore up to 150 mm inclusive label of tinplate:
for pipes with a nominal bore of 200 mm and more — for every pipe, permanent paint stencil.

1.2.4. Cargo containers steel and iron pipes for export must have on both ends of the metal labels indicating the number of places.
1.2.5. On pipes with a nominal bore of 150 mm or less, tied in packets with additional data are displayed on a metal label attached to each package on both sides.
If the additional marking is not placed on the label and the side of the container, it is applied to one of the lateral sides of the container.

1.3. Marking connecting parts and bent branches
1.3.1. Marking on the surface of connecting parts (fittings, couplings, etc.) and bent branches should be applied by casting or stamping, and should contain the trademark of the manufacturer and nominal size in millimeters.
The markings on the curved bends applied with stamps or paint and additionally specify steel grade, the nominal pressure in accordance with GOST 356.

2. PACKAGING
2.1. Packing of steel pipes
2.1.1. Pipes up to 159 mm shall be securely tied in packages or tightly Packed in wooden boxes or gratings, manufactured according to GOST 2991, 24634э GOST, GOST 5959 or containers according to GOST 20435, normative, and securely fastened inside the package from free movement during transportation.
In the transport packages of NTD link pipe with a diameter of 159 mm to 250 mm, inclusive, and cold-deformed pipes with diameter up to 450 mm inclusive.

2.1.2. Packages of pipe weighing from 3 to 5 tons should be tied in at least three places, and a mass of more than 5 to 10 tons — not less than four places. Allowed to link packages weighing up to 10 t in at least three areas when relating them in the transverse direction is not less than 5 turns.

To link packages of thin-walled pipes with diameter of 4.76−57 mm weight, not exceeding 3.0 t allowed to use a metal tape of size not less than 0,9х20 mm according to GOST 3560, GOST 503 or other NTD. To prevent corrosion due to contact of the tubes with a binding material at the request of the consumer to link use other kinds of materials according to the current NTD, or carry out matching of packets with the use of non-metallic materials as spacers under the rail.

2.1.3. Pipe with a diameter of 30 mm with wall thickness up to 0.5 mm, inclusive, with a diameter of 30−60 mm and wall thickness up to 1 mm inclusive in diameter 60−120 mm with a ratio of at least 70, with the surface roughness parameters Ra 2,5−1,25 µm and Rz 20−10 microns (GOST 2789), as well as tubes with high surface quality of capillary and Packed in wooden boxes or grills.

2.1.4. At customer’s request, each pipe with a diameter of 18 mm and a wall thickness of up to 0.5 mm inclusive before packing in boxes should be made of paraffined paper GOST 9569−79 or packaging waterproof paper GOST 8828−89.
2.1.5. At the customer’s request pipes, to be transported by water, and the tubes extremely thin-walled, thin-walled and capillary and surface roughness parameters Ra 2,5−1,25 µm and Rz 20−10 microns (GOST 2789) and higher carbon and alloy steels must have a preservative coating that provides the required anti-corrosive protection for categories of conditions of transportation and storage, Well, the coolant according to the GOST 9.014.

2.1.7. Packing of pipes for export.
2.1.7.1. Each batch of pipes with diameter up to 30 mm with wall thickness more than 0.5 mm, a diameter of 30−60 mm with a wall thickness of 1 mm and pipes with a diameter of 60−140 mm with a ratio of no more than 70, depending on the masses should be firmly tied in steel tape cross section of 1.2−1.8to 30 mm according to GOST 3560 or wire with a diameter of 5 mm according to GOST 3282, or another NTD with a twist. At customer’s request, each batch of pipes with diameter up to 60 mm with a wall thickness of 1.5 mm or less, tubes 60−140 mm with respect to not more than 70 Packed in wooden crates that protect the pipe from mechanical damage.
Linking the package of tubing shall be held not less than four places, evenly spaced along the length of the package.

2.1.7.2. 2.1.7.1,

2.2. Packaging of cast iron pipes
2.2.1. Cast iron pipes with nominal diameters up to 150 mm inclusive when transporting mixed railway and water transport must be tightly linked to the transport packets, the method and means according to GOST 21650 and other NTD.
Pipe with a nominal bore of 200 mm or more packages cannot be linked.

2.2.4. Before transporting to export cast iron pipes should be coated with oil with bitumen or other non-toxic material, authorized by the Ministry of health of USSR for application in domestic water supply.
2.3. Packaging fittings and bent branches
2.3.1. Fittings of the same size linked in bundles of wire according to GOST 3282 or other normative and technical documentation weight not exceeding 40 kg. In coordination with the consumer of the connecting part and bent elbows are Packed in box containers.

3. TRANSPORTATION
3.1. Transportation of pipes shall be carried out by rail (on open rolling stock), roads or water transport in accordance with shipping Rules and specifications of loading and fastening of cargoes* applicable to transport of this species. 4. STORAGE
4.1. In the storage and warehousing of pipes shall be graded in batches of sizes and grades, preventing the possibility of entanglement. Pipe should be stored on shelves or open storage areas, they must have a preservative coating for categories of conditions of transportation and storage, Well, the coolant according to the GOST 9.014. 4.2. Thin-wall seamless and welded, cold drawn, stainless steel boiler pipe and other special appointments and fittings should be stored indoors. It is permitted to store pipe under cover while protecting them from the falling precipitation.
4.3. Cast iron pipe must be stockpiled and stored on the shelves of open storage, sorted into size and class.

5. ACCEPTANCE RULES
5.1. Pipe steel, cast iron and fittings are taken in batches.
5.2. The definition of batch and sample size is established in NTD for specific type of product.
Acceptance of shipments of pipes and fittings that have the control of surface quality and dimensions of each product included in the batch, the manufacturer may be performed on the results of industrial measurement and control in the production process. At the request of the consumer acceptance of products is carried out in accordance with the rules laid down for specific types of products.
5.3. If unsatisfactory results on any indicator, it conducted a re-test at twice the sampling pipes or fittings. The results of repeated checks apply to the entire party.

the date of the statement of quality document;

the melting number (if float) or a party;
chemical composition of pipes (by customer request);
the weight of the batch;
the total length of pipes and number of pipes in pieces;
the results of all tests;
the mark on the shipment of pipes of different sizes, if so specified in the normative-technical documentation;
stamp of technical control.
5.6. Each batch of cast iron pipes must be accompanied by a document about quality that contains:
trademark or name or trademark and the name of the manufacturer;
the name of the consumer;
order number;
the date of the statement of quality document;
the designation of the standard or normative and technical documentation;
nominal size and class of pipe;
the number of tubes in the batch;
mass (theoretical or actual) of the party and footage;
the results of all tests;
stamp of technical control.
5.7. Each party bent branches and fittings supplied separately from pipes, must be accompanied by a document about quality that contains:
trademark or name or trademark and the name of the manufacturer;
the name of the consumer;
order number;
the date of the statement of quality document;
the designation of the standard or normative and technical documentation;
grade of steel;
the size of the branches (indicating the distance between the cambers, radii, and angles of camber);
the size of the connecting parts;
the weight of the batch and the number of pieces;
the results of all tests;
stamp of technical control.
5.8. By agreement between manufacturer and consumer, while the supply to one consumer several consignments shipped in one car or one vehicle is allowed to issue one document about quality that contains all the necessary data.
