1 Scope
This standard applies to platinum powder with a mass fraction of platinum not less than 99.8%, designed for the production of alloys, semi-finished products, chemical compounds of platinum and other purposes.
This standard specifies a method for determining loss of mass on ignition of the powder of platinum in the range of a mass fraction of from 0.0020% to 0.050%.
The method is based on determining the mass difference of the sample before and after calcination.
