This standard applies the terminology according to GOST 17527, as well as the following terms with respective definitions:
3.1 ingot: mass of crystals this way the metal melt of a certain geometric shape and mass.
3.2 inclusion: the Defect is in the form of hard foreign particles in the metal of different shapes and sizes metal or non-metallic (slag) origin.
3.3 dent: the Defect of the surface in the form of individual recesses of various shapes and sizes with smooth edges, formed as a result of surface damage during manufacture, transportation, warehousing.
3.4 concavity: the Deviation from flatness, in which the removal of the surface points of the cross section of the ingot from the adjacent horizontal surface increases from the edges to the middle.
3.5 Burr: the Excess metal remaining on the edges of the ingot after the machining process.
3.6 the influx Defect in the form of a protrusion of solidified metal on the surface of the ingot in various shapes and sizes.
3.7 risk: the Defect of the surface in the form of narrow longitudinal recesses with rounded or flat bottom, formed by scratching the surface of the metal protrusions on the surface of equipment.
