This standard applies to calcium babbits in pigs used for pouring bearings.
1. Marks and technical requirements
1.1. Calcium babbits are made in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.
1.2. Features
1.2.1. Calcium babbits produce brands BKA, BK2 and BK2SH and BK2C.
1.2.2. Mass fraction of main alloying elements and impurities in the calcium babbits must conform to the standards given in the table.

1.2.3.Calcium babbits are made in the form of pigs cross with three interceptions. The dimensions of the ingots listed on the drawing are for reference purposes only and are given for designing molds.
1.2.4. The mass of ingots shall be not more than 28 kg.
1.2.5. The surface of the ingots must be free of oxides and inclusions. Allowed on the surface of ingots of local inclusions of oxides and films on the area not exceeding 10% of the total surface of the ingots, to a depth of 5 mm, traces of removal of oxides from the surface of the liquid metal and small casting defects, as well as rychlosti in the area of shrinkage.
1.2.6. The kink pigs babbit shall not contain slag, oxide and other impurities. Allowed in the fracture of the shell.

Note. Babbit brand BKA by agreement with consumer it is permitted to produce with a mass fraction of aluminum is less than 0.05%. At the customer’s request calcium babbits additionally alloyed with other chemical elements.
1.3. Marking
1.3.1. On each lobe of calcium babbit brand BKA needs to be molded grade, and on the reverse side pig — embossed number melting.
Babbit brand BKA with additional alloying with zinc on each pig should have one green strip or embossed letter W from the casting ingots.
1.3.2. Each pig calcium babbits brands BK2 and BK2SH, BK2C from the fill needs to be embossed grade and number of trunks.
Babbit brand BK2C should have at the end of one red stripe.

1.4. Packaging
1.4.1. Ingots of babbit formed in the packages at 21399 GOST and GOST 24597. Allowed batching of pigs on pallets according to GOST 9078 and GOST 9570.
1.4.2. The package shall consist of ingots of one type of babbit. The mass of the package shall not exceed 1000 kg. allowed the formation of a package of pigs from two different heats of the same brand.
1.4.3. Packages bonded to a steel packing band according to GOST 3560 or steel wire with a diameter of not more than 5 mm according to GOST 3282. Allowed to use other means to bond the packages according to GOST 21650, ensuring the safety of the package.
In forming the package the pipework package should be placed at the top of the pack.
1.4.4. On the side of the package to the packaging tape, attach a label with a wire diameter not less than 1.0 mm. the package Label must contain:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
grade;
the number of pigs in the batch.
2. Acceptance
2.1. Babbit attended parties. The party should consist of calcium ingots of babbit one brand, one or more trunks and decorated with a single document about quality that contains:
trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;
brand calcium babbit;
the room melt;
the weight of the batch;
the results of determination of chemical composition;
the designation of this standard.
2.2. To check the chemical composition of each heat are taken from one pig. Allowed the manufacturer to determine the chemical composition to conduct the sampling from liquid metal at the beginning and end of the spill bottoms.
2.3. The appearance test is subjected to each pig.
2.4. To check pigs for the quality of the structure in the fracture is taken from two pig bottoms.
2.5. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators it is carried out re-testing at twice the sample taken from the same heat. The results of repeated tests spread to the entire party.
3. Test methods
3.1. To control the chemical composition of selected pig cut into four equal parts (by intersecting). The entire section from the four parts of equal installments sampled in the form of sawdust. The mass of the joint sample shall be not less than 30 g Sawdust treated with a magnet and thoroughly mixed.
3.2. Determination of the chemical composition of calcium is carried out according to GOST 1219.0 — 1219.8 GOST and GOST 9519.1 — GOST 9519.3.
Allowed determination of the chemical composition of calcium babbits in other methods, accuracy is not inferior to the specified in the standard.
The differences in the evaluation of the chemical composition determination is carried out according to GOST 1219.0 — 1219.8 GOST and GOST 9519.1 — GOST 9519.3.
3.3. The surface quality is checked visually without the use of magnifying devices.

4. Transportation and storage
4.1 Pig of transporterowych by all kinds of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with the rules of cargo transportation applicable to transportation of this species.
4.2. Stowage and securing of cargoes transported by railway shall be carried out in accordance with the conditions of loading and fastening of cargoes, approved by the Ministry of Railways of the USSR.
