1 Scope
This standard applies to brass foundry ingots, made from scrap and waste of nonferrous metals and alloys and designed for the needs of the economy and exports, as well as charge material for the manufacture of brass according to GOST 17711.
The purpose of the brass is given in Appendix A.

3 Definitions
In this standard use the following terms with respective definitions:
3.1 slag inclusion: a Defect in the form of a cavity, filled with slag.
3.2 contaminants: a Defect in the form of a metallic or non-metallic inclusions having a boundary surface with the base metal.
3.3 captivity: a defect in the form of a metal or oxide layer on the casting surface that occurs when not enough calm pouring of the metal.
3.4 the influx Defect in the form of leakage of metal to the surface of the base metal.
3.5 Bay: a Defect in the form of a metal protrusion on the pig, caused by ingress of liquid metal into the gaps on the connectors of the mold (shape).
3.6 inflation: The defect in the form of blistering of the metal surface that occurs in pigs because of the presence of gas bubbles or non-metallic inclusions.
4 Stamps and technical requirements
4.1 Casting of brass ingots manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard technological instruction, duly approved.
4.2 Brand and chemical composition of brass shall conform to the requirements of table 1.

Notes 1 the Letters in the designation of the brands of brass means: A — aluminum, W — iron, tin, MC — manganese — silicon — lead. 2 mass fraction of copper may be included Nickel, in this case, Nickel in the amount of impurities does not take into account. 3 the Ratio of (Fe + MP)/Si must be: brass grade Lsch — from 2 to 5, brand Lsdch from 4 to 6. 4.3 the Mass of each pig shall not exceed 42 kg For silicon brass ingots weight allowed to 45 lbs. Shape and size of pigs established by the manufacturer.
4.4 On the surface of ingots shall not be sagging, bays, vaduthala, slag and foreign inclusions.
The total surface area occupied by the oxide films and plenary, shall not exceed 15% of the surface pigs.
4.5 breaking pig needs to be tight and without foreign inclusions.
4.6 Additional technical requirements may be established in contractual agreement between the consumer and the manufacturer.
4.7 each pig must be applied:
— trademark or a trademark and the name of the manufacturer;
— number of melt;
— color coded alloy.
4.8 Color coding is applied to the ends of the ingots has a dye in the form of vertical stripes and crosses for brass stamps:
— LS — white;
— Lsch — white and white cross;
— LSD — two white;
— Lsdch — two white and white cross;
— L. white, black and white;
— LK — red and white;
— LK1 — white, red, and white;
— LK2 — white and two red;
— LKS — black, red and black;
— Lmcs — white and blue;
— Lmczh — white and green;
LA white and yellow;
— Lmcka — three red;
— Lazhmc — white and brown;

— Lmcska — two red.
5 acceptance Rules
5.1 Alloys present to the acceptance of the parties. The party must contain ingots of an alloy of one brand, of one or more heats and be accompanied by a document about quality that contains:
— trademark or a trademark and the name of the manufacturer;
— brand alloy;
— the batch number;
— the weight of the batch;
— number of (a) melting (melting);
— the result (s) for chemical analysis of smelting (melting);
— date of manufacture;
— the designation of this standard.
5.2 Batch should not contain more than 1% broken pigs. In the party intended for export, broken ingots are not allowed.
5.3 Checking the quality of the surface subjected to at least 20 pigs.
5.4 quality Control of the fracture is carried out at the request of the consumer. For quality control of the fracture taken at least two pigs.
5.5 To control the chemical composition of each heat are taken from at least two pigs. On the manufacturer is allowed to take samples from molten metal according to the method approved in the prescribed manner.
5.6 If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators it is carried out re-tests on twice the number of samples selected from the same heat. The results of repeated testing are spreading to the entire party.
6 test Methods
6.1 To check the quality of the jog selected pig half nadpilivayut and break.
6.2 Checking the quality of the surface and of the fracture is carried out visually.
6.3 Selection and preparation of samples for chemical analysis is carried out according to GOST 24231, for spectral analysis according to the method approved in the prescribed manner.
In the selection and preparation of samples for chemical analysis must comply with the requirements for safe operation in accordance with GOST 12.1.005, GOST 12.1.007, GOST 12.4.013 GOST 12.4.021 and regulations approved in the established order.
6.4 Determination of chemical composition is carried out according to GOST 25086, 1652.1 GOST-GOST 1652.13.
Allowed to determine the chemical composition by other methods of equal accuracy standardized.
If there is disagreement in the assessment of the chemical composition of its definition is carried out according to GOST 1652.1-GOST 1652.13.
The phosphorus content and Nickel is determined by the requirement of the user.
7 Transportation and storage
7.1 Pig transporterowych in packs of 21399 GOST, GOST 26653. The packages shall consist of ingots of one brand.
Packs fasten with packing tape according to GOST 3560 or steel wire of diameter not less than 10 mm according to GOST 3282.
Allowed to use other means of fasteners according to GOST 21650, ensuring the safety of the package.
Transport marking of packages — according to GOST 14192. On the side of the package is attached a metal or wooden label materials to ensure its safety.
7.2 Packages transporterowych all kinds of transport in accordance with goods transportation regulations applied to this type of transport.
Packets destined for export, transporterowych in covered vehicles.
7.3 Pig kept in conditions that ensure preservation of their quality.
