2A. ACCEPTANCE RULES

2A.1. The ribbon take parties. The party should consist of strips of one and bottoms of the same size, one batch in the oven, or a single mode of heat treatment in continuous furnaces and be accompanied by a document about quality that contains:

trademark and (or) the name of the manufacturer;

the symbol of the tape;

grade of steel;

the number of melt with the chemical composition;

the results of the tests;

the number of coils and the weight of the party.

By agreement between manufacturer and consumer, the party may consist of ribbons of different heats.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 2, 3).

2A.2. The inspection of appearance and dimensions should be subjected to this kind of party ribbon.

2A.3. From the party of the ribbon should be selected:

to check strength and elongation — 5% skeins, but not less than three coils;

to check the camber and chemical composition — 2% skeins, but at least two;

to test the hardness of not less than three skeins of the party.

Party tape consisting of a bundle of different heats of steel, is subjected to 100% testing of tensile and hardness.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).

2A.4. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators it is carried out re-tests on twice the number of coils not being tested.

The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.

Sec. 2A. (Added, Rev. N 1).

3. TEST METHODS

3.1. (Deleted, Rev. N 1).

3.2. The thickness and width of ribbon, size of defects is measured by using micrometers (GOST 6507) and other means of measuring the respective accuracy.

The size of the defects is determined by the destruction of its sweep, followed by a comparative measurement in the stripped and unstripped areas.

The quality of the surface and the edges checked visually without the use of magnifying devices. The differences in the assessment of control is carried out visually on the samples taken from the two ends of a coil after hot pickling them in a 50% aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid (GOST 3118) at a temperature of 60−70 °C for 5−10 min or other solutions and conditions with obtaining of identical results.

If necessary, use magnifying glass with five times magnification.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 2, 3).

3.3. From each coil selected for definition of mechanical properties and hardness, must be taken one sample from both ends of a coil.

Check Rebrovo curvature produced in any place of a coil, but not closer than 2 m from the ends.

Note. Party tape consisting of a bundle of different heats of steel, is subjected to a 100% tensile test and hardness.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).

3.4. Chemical composition of steel must verify the certificate of the manufacturer of the metal. Chemical composition shall be determined in accordance with GOST 12344, 12345 GOST, GOST 12346, 12347 GOST, GOST 12348, 12350 GOST, GOST and GOST 12352 12355 or other methods providing the required accuracy.

For quenching samples heated to 840−860 °C and after holding at this temperature for 1.5 min for each millimeter of thickness of the tape is quenched in oil. Hardened samples are subjected to release at 180 °C delayed at least 2 hours.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).

3.7. Camber shall be checked by combining the edges of the sample tape with a length of 1 m with a straight line. The measurement is performed in the place of the greatest curvature of the ruler according to GOST 427или other means of measurement, corresponding to the accuracy.
