1. This standard specifies the dimensions allowances for machining of workpieces of low carbon, medium carbon, low alloy and medium alloy steels, cut oxygen cutting with subsequent mechanical processing.
The standard does not establish the margins of steel billets, cut oxygen cutting will be Assembly or welding without machining.
2. The amount of the allowance includes:
— error cutting (grooves, local digs, deviation of cut surface from perpendicularity etc.), resulting in the cutting process of the workpiece;
— mechanical and electrical errors of the machine or manual cutting method;
the metal layer when cutting medium-carbon and medium alloy steels, in which by heating and rapid cooling, and diffusion processes occurring at the cut edges, changed the structure and chemical composition;
thermal deformations in the metal, under condition of observance of prescribed technological cutting sequence;
technological inaccuracies associated with the installation of workpieces on machine tools for the subsequent removal of the allowance and details within the drawing dimensions.
3. Margins are set depending on the steel grade, thickness of metal, size of workpiece and cutting way.
4. When cutting blanks from the sheet, sections and forgings of carbon and low-alloy steels, the sizes of allowances and tolerances him on the side shall be as specified in table.1.

5. When cutting blanks from the sheet, sections and forgings of medium carbon and medium alloy steel dimensions clearances and permissible deviations thereon shall be as specified in table.1 with the addition thereto of an additional allowance that takes into account the depth of the zone of thermal influence of cutting on the structure and chemical composition of the cutting edges, are given in table.2.

6. When cutting cast billets of carbon and low alloy steels the size of allowances increased twice in comparison with specified in the table.1.
7. When cutting cast billets from medium carbon and medium alloy steel margins are doubled in comparison with specified in the table.1 with the addition doubled the size of the allowance specified in table.2.
8. When cutting workpieces of medium carbon and medium alloy steel parts and structures operating in the marine environment, the allowances established in table.1 and 2 doubles.
