The length of the pipe determines the distance between its ends and screwed joints — the distance from the free end of the coupler to the end of a taper thread the opposite end of the pipe.
(Changed edition, Rev. N 2).
1.4. Maximum deviations in sizes and weight of the pipes and couplings establish the following:

In places where wall thickness can be measured directly, the depth of the defective places may exceed the specified amount while maintaining minimum wall thickness, defined as the difference between the nominal thickness of the pipe and limit it to negative deviation.
Allowed some minor nicks, dents, risks, thin layer of dross and other defects due to the method of production, if they do not take wall thickness outside negative deviations.
2.3. The place of transition of the planted part of the pipe to the part wall thickness should not have sharp ledges.
On the inner surface planted to the outside of the pipe ends with couplings should not be more than three defects (failure to complete metal repair and defects), the length of each of which the circumference should not be more than 25 mm, a width of over 15 mm and a depth of more than 2 mm.
On the outer and inner surfaces planted out all clutchless pipes at a distance of less than 85 mm from the end of the defects referred to in paragraph 2.2, are not permitted. In the distance St. 85 mm should not be more than three defects (not fillings metal and repair of defects), the length of each of which shall not be more than the circumference of a circle, of a width more than 15 mm and a depth of more than 2 mm.
Wall thickness in the transition of all pipes with external upset tubing shall not be less than the minimum allowable wall thickness of the smooth pipe section.
2.4. Mass fraction of sulfur and phosphorus in steel should not be more than 0,045% each.
2.5. Pipe and couplings shall be made of steel of the same strength group of the table.6.

Notes:
1. End of thread end consider the intersection point of the generatrix of the cone of thread end with a generatrix of the cylinder of diameter equal to the outer diameter of the pipe.
2. Allowed conical recess at a coupling face formed parallel to the generatrix of the cone of thread. The smallest diameter of the conical recess should be equal to the cylindrical recess.
3. Minimum wall thickness under the threads in the plane of the end pipe () is calculated according to the following formula (rounded to the nearest 0.1 mm),
where - the nominal wall thickness, mm;
— nominal outside diameter of pipe, mm;
internal thread diameter in the plane of the end of pipe, mm;
— the value of the upper limit deviation of outside diameter of pipe, mm specified in claim 1.4.
If the value calculated by above formula is less than 1.0 mm for pipes with a nominal diameter up to 48 mm incl. and less than 2.0 mm for all other diameters, the value should be taken equal to 1.0 mm.

1. End of thread end consider the intersection point of the generatrix of the cone of thread end with a generatrix of the cylinder of diameter equal to the outside diameter of the planted portion.
2. Allowed conical recess at a coupling face formed parallel to the generatrix of the cone of thread. The smallest diameter of the conical recess should be equal to the cylindrical recess.
2.13.3. Maximum deviations from the nominal thread sizes shall be as specified in table.12.

Notes:
1. Maximum deviations of pitch length not exceeding 25.4 mm, allowed for the distance between any two threads with a full profile. For the distance between threads over 25.4 mm allowed an increase of the marginal variances in proportion to the distance, but not more than specified in the table for the entire length of thread with a full profile.
2. Limit deviation of taper (variances of the difference between the two diameters) made on the screw length of 100 mm and refer to the average diameter of the pipe thread and coupling, as well as to the outside diameter of the pipe thread and the internal thread diameter of the coupling.
2.13.4. Preload galvanized or phosphated thread for threaded coupling size-tube should be equal to the preload (see the devil.7 and table.10 and 11) adopted for screwing couplings with pipes manually. Limit deviation… ±.
Note. The value corresponds to the thread pitch, and is taken equal to 2.5 mm (for pipes and couplings with thread pitch 2,540 mm) and 3.2 mm (for pipes and couplings with thread pitch 3,175 mm).

2.13.5. The interference fit pipe thread for threaded caliber-ring must be of equal value . Limit deviation …±.
2.13.6. When manually screwing and galvanized or phosphated couplings with pipe tightness must be equal to the value (see damn.6 and table 10 and 11). Limit deviation …±. Allowed selection of couplings and pipe ends for tightness.
2.13.7. After screwing the pipes and couplings on the machine side of the coupler must match the end of a taper thread on the pipe (see the devil.6). Limit deviation… ±.
2.13.8. To exit threading tool in the middle of the clutch can be machined a groove to a depth not exceeding the height by more than 0.5 mm. the Groove should not have sharp corners (undercuts). In the absence of grooves allowed overcutting counter-thread at the distance not exceeding (13-) mm, measured from the middle of the clutch in both directions.
2.14. Basic parameters and connection sizes smooth vysokoaromatichnyj pipes and couplings to them — NKM
2.14.1. Shape and dimensions of the thread profile pipes with a nominal diameter of 60 to 102 mm and couplings shall be as specified in the hell.8 and in table.13, and for pipes with a nominal diameter of 114 mm and couplings to them — damn.9 and in table.13.
