6. EDITION with Change No. 1, approved in June 1987 (IUS 11−87)

This standard applies to steel hot-deformed seamless pipes used in shipbuilding for steam.

Indicators of technical level established by this standard are intended for highest and first quality categories.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).

1. ASSORTMENT

1.1. The sizes of pipes according to GOST 8732, GOST 9567 within an outer diameter 114−426 mm.

1.2. At the request of the consumer tolerances for outside diameter and wall thickness shall be as specified in GOST 8732 or GOST 9567.

Length limit deviations of length, ovality, raznoshennoy and the curvature of the pipe — graveyard 8732.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1. Pipes made from steel grades 10 and 20 with the chemical composition according to GOST 1050.

2.2. On the surface of the tubes should not be captured, sinks, flaws, cracks and sunsets.

Permitted defects and traces of repair defects, if they do not take wall thickness beyond the minimum size.

2.3. At customer’s request, tubes with a diameter of 140 mm with a wall thickness of not more than 8 mm should stand the test of the hand.

Norms of mechanical properties, flattening, distribution and hydraulic tests — the graveyard 8731.

2.3. At the customer’s request pipes with a wall thickness of not more than 10 mm must withstand the test of flattening.

2.3 b. Tubes shall withstand hydraulic test pressure.

2.3 a, 2.3 b. (Added, Rev. N 1).

2.4. At the request of the consumer pipes shall be heat-treated. Allowed heat treatment of pipes with rolling heating.

2.5. Pipes must withstand ultrasonic defectoscopy across the surface.

The equivalent allowable defects is risk artificial depth not more than 10% of the nominal value of wall thickness and a length of not more than 50 mm.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).

2.5. In the macrostructure of the pipe is not allowed traces of the shrinkage cavities, voids, cracks, bubbles, delaminations, inclusions, inversions and crusts placenow.

(Added, Rev. N 1).

2.6. The pipe ends must be cut at right angle, at the same time allowed the formation of the chamfer at an angle of at least 70° to the axis of the pipe.

The pipe ends must be cleaned of burrs. Allowed the formation of a chamfer at their removal.

2.6.1. It is allowed to trim the ends of tubes with wall thickness of 20 mm or more oxy-fuel, plasma cutting or saw.

When cutting pipes with a torch or plasma cutting the stock to length of the pipes should be at least 20 mm for each cut.

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES

3.1. The pipes are accepted by the parties.

The party should consist of pipes of the same size, one steel, one kind of heat treatment (for supply pipes in thermally treated condition) and, at the request of the consumer, the one melting.

The number of pipes in the lot shall be not more than 200 PCs.

3.2. Control external and internal surfaces and the geometric dimensions subjected to each pipe of the party.

3.3. To control tensile, flattening, distribution and the macro-structure is taken on two pipes from the party.

If the party five or more pipes, select a pipe from the party.

Macrostructure control of pipe wall thickness of 12 mm or more.

By agreement with the consumer for control of mechanical properties, flattening and distribution of it is allowed to apply statistical methods of control.

The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).

4. TEST METHODS

4.1. Inspection of the outer surface of the pipe is carried out without the use of magnifying devices.

The internal surface is inspected through the periscope.

The depth of the defects check adproval or otherwise.

Control of the outer diameter of the pipes is carried out with a caliper type stepper motor according to GOST 166, micrometer smooth MK-type according to GOST 6507, staples sheet according to GOST 18360, 18365 GOST.

Control of the wall thickness of the pipe is carried out with a micrometer type MT according to GOST 6507.

Control the length of the pipes is carried out measuring tape according to GOST 7502.

Control the curvature of the pipes is carried out with a straight edge according to GOST 8026 probe on the other 2−034−225.

Allowed to control the geometric dimensions and surface quality of the pipes with special devices according to normative-technical documentation.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).

4.2. For tensile testing, flattening, distribution and control of the macrostructure of each selected pipe cut off one sample.

4.3. Ultrasonic quality control of pipes is carried out according to GOST 17410 using test samples.

Artificial external and internal risks in the test samples for sensitivity setting of ultrasonic equipment for the inspection of longitudinal defects should correspond to GOST 17410.

(Changed edition, Rev. N 1).

4.4. The tensile test is carried out according to GOST 10006, on the longitudinal (in the form of a strip or a section of a pipe) is proportional to the short sample.

For samples in the form of a strip speed of deformation up to the yield strength should be not more than 10 mm/min, yield point is not more than 40 mm/min.

By agreement with the consumer allowed to control mechanical properties by nondestructive methods.
