6 INTRODUCED FOR THE FIRST TIME

Information about the changes to this standard is published in the annual reference index «National standards», and the text changes and amendments — in monthly information index «National standards». In case of revision (replacement) or cancellation of this standard a notification will be published in the monthly information index «National standards». Introduction

This standard is designed instead to interstate standards GOST 8733, GOST 8734, GOST 9567 and GOST 10707 taking into account modern achievements of science, engineering and technology, advanced national experience of the manufacture and use of tubes.

Pipe manufactured according to GOST 8733, GOST 8734, GOST 9567 and GOST 10707, despite the different manufacturing methods, have the same scope as General-purpose tubes. Welded pipe because of development of modern technologies remove the outer and inner bead and the joint effects of cold deformation and heat treatment on their mechanical and technological properties are not inferior to cold-drawn seamless pipes and for precision and surface quality are superior to them. It is therefore legitimate Association of the requirements of these standards into a single standard, this standard has some significant differences:

in comparison with GOST 8734, GOST 10707 in this standard expanded the range of pipes from 4x0,2 mm to 325х24 0 mm (excluding cold-drawn welded tubes wall thickness of which is limited to 12.0 mm);

in comparison with GOST 9567 assortment of pipes is limited by the maximum size of the pipes 325х24,0 mm, since this standard applies to pipes of General purpose;

— by agreement between the manufacturer and the customer the possibility of making pipe in other sizes;

for seamless and welded cold-deformed tubes has three precision of manufacturing: normal, increased and high;

— standardized tolerances for diameter and wall thickness of seamless and welded cold-deformed tubes;

— established norms of mechanical properties of the metal pipes of steel grades 09G2S and 30KHMA when a tensile test;

— an addition was made providing for the possibility of manufacturing pipes with the holding of NDT for detection of longitudinal defects.

The standard establishes additional requirements to improve the accuracy of pipe surface quality, in particular the manufacture of pipes with polished surface, extra requirements for special finishing of pipe ends, as well as a number of other requirements.

1 Scope

This standard applies to seamless and welded cold-deformed pipes of General purpose made of carbon and alloy steels.
