This standard applies to hot-rolled and cold-rolled strips of Nickel silver, Nickel silver, and Manila used in various industries.

1. ASSORTMENT
1.1. The thickness of the hot rolled and cold rolled strips and limit deviations on thickness shall be as specified in table.1 and 2.

1.4. Lane manufacturing length from 500 to 2000 mm. Bands are made with a measuring interval of 500 mm dimensional and random length.
Limit deviations for the length of the strip dimensional and multiple lengths shall not exceed:
— 10 mm for strips up to a length of 1000 mm incl.;
— 15 mm strips with a length of over 1000 mm.
At customer’s request, produce strip lengths from 1000 to 2000 mm.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
2.1. Strip manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.
Stripes are made of cupronickel MN19 brand, Nickel silver brand НМЦ15−20, Manila brand НМЖМд28−2,5−1,5 with the chemical composition according to GOST 492−73.
2.2. The surface bands must be clean and smooth, should not be captured, delamination, bubbles, cracks, rough scratches, dents, holes and foreign inclusions.
On the surface of the strips are not allowed scratches, dents, rabiza, nakoly, outputting the strip at reference sweep for tolerances for thickness.
Allowed local darkening and traces of unburned lubricant.
Permitted surface quality of strips to set from the samples agreed with the customer and state acceptance.

2.3. Edge strips should be trimmed evenly and must not have significant burrs.
Wavy, creased and torn edges are not allowed.
2.4. Camber strips shall not exceed 4 mm to 1 m.

Cold-rolled strip made of Nickel silver — hard and soft; of Nickel-silver — soft, hard and very hard; from Manila — soft and semi-hard.
Note. Particularly rigid strip of Nickel silver are manufactured up to a thickness of 4 mm.
2.6. Mechanical properties for cold rolled strips should conform to the standards specified in table.5.

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES
3.1. Stripes take parties. The party should consist of bands of one method of manufacture, one brand of alloy, one size, one precision manufacturing, one state of the material shall be furnished in one document about quality that contains:
trademark or name of the manufacturer and trademark;
the symbol of the band;
the results of mechanical testing (at the customer’s request) ;
batch number;
the weight of the party.
The weight of the batch shall be not more than 1000 kg.
3.2. Control of surface quality and dimensions shall be subjected to each lane.
3.2. To check the camber taken away two lanes from the party.

3.3. To check mechanical properties from each batch are selected based on three bands.
3.4. To control the chemical composition of the party selected two bands.
3.5. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one indicator thereon, a second test of the doubled sample taken from the same batch.
The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.

4. TEST METHODS
4.1. The chemical composition of the strips should be determined according to GOST 6689.0−80 — GOST 6689.23−80.
Selection and preparation of samples for the determination of chemical composition is carried out according to GOST 24231−80.
4.2. The inspection of the surface bands must be made visually without the use of magnifying devices.
4.3. Measurement of the thickness of the strips should be made with a micrometer according to GOST 6507−90 at a minimum distance of 50 mm from the end and not less than 10 mm from the edge.
Measurement shall be both the end and the middle part of the strip not less than three places.
Measurement of the width and length of the bands is carried out metal measuring tape measure the churchyard 7502−89 or measuring ruler according to GOST 427−75, or a caliper according to GOST 166−89.

4.4. Camber strips are measured according to GOST 26877−91.

4.5. For tensile testing from each selected strip cut one sample in the direction of rolling. Selection of samples for tensile tests carried out according to GOST 24047−80.
Tensile test on strips with a thickness of 3 mm is carried out according to GOST 11701−84 on flat samples of type I with a width of 20 mm () with an initial estimated length .
Tensile test strips of a thickness of 3 mm and more is carried out according to GOST 1497−84 on flat samples of type I width (20 mm) for strips with thickness up to 7 mm inclusive, the width of 30 mm () for strips of a thickness more than 7 mm. the Initial gauge length of the samples .

5. PACKING, MARKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
5.1. Strip of a thickness not exceeding 5 mm, stacked in bundles should be wrapped in paraffined paper GOST 9569−79 or other materials according to normative-technical documentation, and packaged in wooden boxes according to GOST 2991−85.
Strip thickness up to 5 mm Packed in crates types V-1, V-2, VI-1, VI-2 the graveyard 2991−85.
Sizes of boxes for strips up to a length of 1200 mm according to GOST 21140−88 and for strips of a length greater than 1200 mm are determined by the overall size of the bands (the maximum length of strips 2000 mm, width — 600 mm), according to normative-technical documentation approved in the established order.
Strips of a thickness more than 5 mm need to be stacked in bundles, and the mass bands of over 30 kg — the individual bands wrapped in the same waxed paper, Packed in synthetic or nonwoven material, ensure quality safety strips according to the normative-technical documentation, and protected top and bottom with boards or wooden boards, the dimensions of which correspond to the width and length of the stack.
Packed so bundles of strips should be tied in at least two places with tape not less than 0,3x20 mm according to GOST 3560−73 or wire with a minimum thickness of 2 mm according to GOST 3282−74. The ends of the straps are fastened to the «lock» wire — twist, five turns.
Weight of cargo must not exceed 80 kg, At mechanized loading and unloading is allowed more than 80 kg.
Consolidation packages to transport packages weighing up to 1 ton should be made on NTD, weight and dimensions of the package in accordance with the requirements of GOST 24597−81.
Packaging should be carried out on pallets according to GOST 9557−87 or without pallets using the bricks of size not less than 50x50 mm and a length equal to the width of the package.
Transport packages must be wrapped in at least two areas or cross wire with a diameter of not less than 3 mm according to GOST 3282−74 or tape of size not less than 0,5H30 mm according to GOST 3560−73. The ends of the tying wire are held together by twisting at least five turns of tape to «lock».
The packing of packages sent to the far North regions and equivalent areas shall be carried out according to GOST 15846−79 in the group «Metals and metal products."
Packs of strips or a single strip wrapped in paraffined paper GOST 9569−79 and synthetic or nonwoven fabrics, or other materials, ensure quality safety strips according to the normative-technical documentation, it is allowed to transport in containers according to GOST 18477−79 without packing in boxes and without the protection of wooden planks or boards. The strip must be wrapped and sealed wire according to GOST 3282−74 diameter not less than 3 mm a twist of five turns or tape the churchyard 3560−73 size not less than 0,3х30 mm in the «castle».
Placement and mounting the strips in the containers should exclude the possibility of displacement of the strips in the container.

5.2. In each pack of strips should be firmly attached label showing:
the trademark or name of the manufacturer and trademark;
the symbol of the band;
the weight of the party;
batch number.
5.3. Transport marking of packages, the place and method of application — according to GOST 14192−77 with the batch numbers and the manipulation of the sign «Afraid of dampness». Allowed to affix directly to packaging.

5.7. Transportation lanes must be held by all kinds of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with the rules applicable to the transport of the species.
Transportation lanes by rail is small and carload shipments.
