This standard applies to drawn (round, square and hexagonal), extruded (round) and hot rolled (round) bars and rods, of tin-bronzes used in various industries.

1. ASSORTMENT

1.1. Dimensions round, square and hexagonal bars tolerances for them shall be as specified in table.1−4.

1A. Bars high precision manufactures:

bronze brand BRAZH9−4 — with a diameter of 16.0−30.0 mm;

bronze brand Brazhmc10−3-1,5 — with a diameter of 16.0 to 18.0 mm.

2. By agreement with the consumer allowed to produce rods with a diameter of 130−140 mm with limit deviation for diameter minus 3.0 mm and a diameter of 150−160 mm with limit deviation minus 3.5 mm.

1.2. The length of bars made:

a) random length:

a length of 2 to 5 m, for bars with diameter from 5 to 40 mm,

length from 1 to 4 m for bars with diameter over 40 up to 80 mm

length from 1 to 3 m — for bars with a diameter of over 80 to 120 mm,

length of 0.5 to 2 m, for bars with diameter over 120 mm;

b) measuring length within off-gage length with utmost deviations:

+10 mm for a drawn bar of all sizes

+15 mm for extruded and hot-rolled bars up to 50 mm,

+20 mm for extruded and hot-rolled bars larger than 50 mm.

Extruded rods of standard length are made at the request of the consumer;

C) a multiple of gauging length within off-gage with 5 mm allowance per cut and total tolerance on length in accordance with the listing b).

Maximum deviations on length of extruded rods of high accuracy with a diameter of 80 mm shall be +10 mm, with a diameter of over 80 mm to +15 mm.

At the request of the consumer drawn bars must produce with maximum deviation in length +6 mm.

1.3. In the party of bars with variable length are allowed the cropped bars: not more than 10% of the mass of the party:

length less than 1 m for bars with diameter up to 40 mm;

length less than 0.5 m — for bars with diameter over 40 mm.

1.4. Drawn bars with a diameter less than 14 mm is allowed to wind in the Bay. Length of bars should be not less than 3 m.

Note. At customer’s request bars with a diameter of 14 mm or more is permitted to wind in the Bay.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1. Bars manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner.

Kind bars and method of manufacture are shown in table.5.

Notes:

1. In bronze brand Brkmc3−1, in agreement with the consumer allowed: reduction of iron content to 0.08%; the increase in the iron content up to 1,5% — 2,0% (due to the reduction of copper).

2. In bronze brand Bramc9−2 at the request of the consumer a limited content of aluminium in the range of 8% to 9.2%.

2.1.1. The bars are made of bronze marks Bramc9−2, Brazhmc10−3-1,5, Brazhn10−4-4, Brazh9−4, Brkmc3−1 and Brkn1−3 with the chemical composition according to GOST 18175.

2.2. Surface bars should be clean, free of defects and contamination impeding inspection.

On the surface of bars allowed minor captivity, sinks, cracks, dents, burrs, scratches, scaly, blisters, and scales the maximum depth limit deviation for diameter. Allowed traces of the technological lubricant, and colors of annealing after low-temperature annealing of the drawn bar.

2.3. Mechanical properties of bars shall be as specified in table.6.

4. Under the control of the mechanical properties of single or tensile strength and elongation, or hardness.

At customer’s request, determine tensile strength, elongation and hardness.

5. At customer’s request bars brand Brazhn10−3-1,5 manufacture of a relative elongation of at least 14%.

6. At the request of the consumer drawn solid bars brand Brkmc3−1 diameters from 5 to 12 mm are made with a temporary tear resistance of not less than 540 MPa (55 kgf/mmГОСТ 1628-78 Прутки бронзовые. Технические условия (с Изменениями N 1-4)).


Electrical resistivity bars is given in Appendix 3.

2.4. From drawn bar of bronze stamps Brkmc3−1 should be dropped internal voltage.

2.5. Bars should not be of non-metallic inclusions, delaminations, voids and pressurein.

2.6. Bars must be straightened. The local curvature of the rods 1 m length should not exceed the values given in table.7.

The overall curvature of the rod should not exceed the local curvature of 1 m length to the length of the rod in meters.

2.7. Bars should be trimmed evenly at the ends and must not have significant burrs.

Cut end Squareness, mm should take the rods for half of limit deviations in length.

Allowed to produce rods with a diameter of 40 mm and less with the cut ends. By agreement with the consumer allowed to produce rods with a diameter of 80 mm and less with the cut ends. Cut end Squareness, mm does not specify.

2.8. Deviations from the cross-sectional shape (ovality, Combichrist, cut) are allowed within the tolerances of dimensions.

At the request of the consumer is drawn, the bars should produce deviations from the cross-sectional shape within half the tolerances on the dimensions.

2.9. Twisting square hex drawn bar wound into a coil, should not exceed the values given in the figure and table.8.

The total torsion of the rod should not exceed the values permitted by the twisting of 1 m to the length of the rod in meters.

2.10. The radius of curvature of the longitudinal edges drawn bar, square and hexagonal cross-sections must not exceed:

0.5 mm for dimensions up to 25 mm incl.;

1.0 mm — for dimensions over 25 mm.

2.11. Drawn bars made of bronze brand Brkmc3−1 should be kept at room temperature, the bend test without showing signs of strain, and delamination.

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES

3.1. The rods take lots. The party must consist of bars of one method of manufacture, one precision manufacturing, one state of the material, the same size and profile, the same brand of bronze and decorated with a single document about quality that contains:

trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;

the symbol of the rod;

the results of the tests (at the request of the consumer);

batch number;

the weight of the batch.

The weight of the batch should not exceed 3,000 kg.

3.2. Control sizes are subjected to 10% bars party. To control the appearance of the bars from the party selected bars (beams, Bay) «blind» method of maximum objectivity, according to GOST 18321.

The control plans comply with GOST 18242*. Number of control rods (beams, coves) are selected in accordance with table.9.

Selected bars are considered to be valid if the number of bars (beams of bays), non-conforming, less than the acceptance number given in table.9. If unsatisfactory results, the manufacturer conducts a complete inspection.

3.3. To test the hardness or strength and elongation, and bend test take two rods, two beams or the two bays of the party.

3.4. To check for twisting from the party select five bars. If there is less than five rods, each control rod.

3.5. The absence of internal defects in extruded and rolled from extruded billet rods checked for each rod.

To check for the absence of internal defects in drawn bars take two rods, two beams or the two bays of the party.

3.6. To check the chemical composition of the selected two rods, two beams or the two bays of the party. Allowed the manufacturer checks the chemical composition conducted on a sample taken from molten metal, it is allowed control of the finished bars chemical composition.

3.7. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators (except the indicator of appearance) it is carried out re-testing at twice the sample taken from the same batch.

The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.

Allowed the manufacturer to conduct routine testing of bars.

4. TEST METHODS

4.1. Control the appearance of bars is carried out with a given probability 96% without the use of magnifying devices.

4.2. The measurement of the size of the rod is carried out in at least two mutually perpendicular directions of the same cross section of the rod with a micrometer according to GOST 6507, GOST 4381.

Length measurement is carried out metal measuring tape according to GOST 7502.

Cosine of the cut and the curvature of the test bars according to GOST 26877.

The radius of curvature of the longitudinal edges define a radial pattern on the other 2−034−228*.

Allowed to use any other measuring tools, if they provide the specified accuracy of measurement.

4.3. Check the rods on the absence of internal defects produce non-destructive methods by the method agreed between the manufacturer and the customer.

Allowed inspection of extruded bars in the presence of internal defects to perform non-destructive inspection method according to the method specified in Annex 7 GOST 2060* from the end adjacent to the press-residue.

For extruded and rolled from extruded billet bars in the test is the end adjacent to the press-residue, and for drawn bar — both ends.

Allowed to check for fracture of the rod.

To obtain the fracture of bars incised with one or both sides, and then break. The incision should be made in such a way that the fracture passed through the Central part of the rod.

The width of the fracture must be: for bars with diameter up to 16 mm inclusive, at least 60% of the diameter; for bars with diameter over 16 mm, not less than 10 mm. Inspection of the fracture is carried out without the use of magnifying devices.

After inspection allowed the broken end of the rod is not cut off.

4.4. Test bars tensile carried out on two samples taken from each selected batch rod or Bay. From each beam, taken from the party, take one rod from each of the bars taking one sample. The test is carried out according to GOST 1497.

For bars bronze brand Brkmc3−1 testing of mechanical properties carried out on samples with a calculated length equal to five diameters.

Selection of samples for tensile tests produced in accordance with GOST 24047.

4.5. Test bars for hardness performed on five samples. From the selected batch of two bars or the two bays, take five samples (two samples from one rod or Bay and three samples from different bars or coils). From selected from the party two beams take five bars (two rods from one beam and three bars from the other beam) and from each of the bars taking one sample.

Test Brinell hardness number (HB) is carried out according to GOST 9012. Bars with a diameter of 5−10 mm was tested under the condition of 2.5 NV/187, 5/30, rods with a diameter of 11−28 mm for the interval of hardness 110−130 provided 5/250/30 NV, for the interval hardness 130−200 provided 5/750/30 NV, rods with a diameter of 28 mm for the interval of hardness 110−130 provided 10/1000/30 NV, for the interval 130−220 provided 10/3000/30 NV.

4.6. Torsion bars checked according to GOST 26877.

4.7. The test bars on a bending is carried out on two samples taken from each rod or Bay, taken from the party. From each beam take one rod from each of the bars taking one sample. The test is carried out according to GOST 14019*.

The bending is carried out at 90° around the mandrel with a radius of curvature equal to the diameter of the rod, without the appearance of signs of strain, and without detachment.

Bars with a diameter of 5−14 mm feel neobhodimymi: diameter 16 mm or more will be turned to a diameter of 15 mm eccentric to one side neophocaena surface.

Bending a sample of his neophocaena the surface must be exterior.

4.8. Chemical composition is determined by GOST 25086, 15027.1 GOST-GOST 15027.14, 20068.1 GOST-GOST 20068.3 or other methods of equal accuracy specified in the standards.

If there is disagreement in the assessment of the results of the analysis of the chemical composition is determined by GOST 25086, 15027.1 GOST-GOST 15027.14, 20068.1 GOST-GOST 20068.3.

Sampling for analyzing the chemical composition — GOST 24231.

5. PACKING, MARKING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

5.1. Bars with diameter up to 35 mm inclusive tied into bundles weighing not more than 80 kg each. Each bundle should consist of at least three bars and should be tied with wire in two turns with a diameter of 1.2 mm according to GOST 3282 or other material according to normative-technical documentation in at least two places so as to exclude mutual displacement of bars in the beam. The ends of the wire connected by twisting at least five turns.

At customer’s request bars are tied into bundles weighing up to 500 kg Each bundle should be tied with wire in two turns with a diameter of not less than 3 mm according to GOST 3282, in at least two places so as to exclude the mutual movement of the rods in the beam.

Each Bay needs to be tied up with a wire according to GOST 3282 or other material, ensure the safety of the wire, according to normative-technical documentation in at least three places evenly around the circumference of the Bay.

Consolidation packages to transport packages weighing up to 1000 kg of produced according to GOST 24597 with dimensions according to normative-technical documentation.

Packaging bundles and individual rods, not bound in bundles, carried on pallets according to GOST 9557 or without pallets with the use of bars not less than 50 mm with tying wire with diameter not less than 2 mm and two turns, according to GOST 3282 or tape not less than 0,3х30 mm according to GOST 3560, as well as using a sling also packageable wire according to GOST 3282 diameter not less than 5 mm with the twist of not less than three turns.

5.3. To each beam (the Bay) rods should be attached to the metal or plywood label according to GOST 14192 with the indication:

the trademark or name and trademark of manufacturer;

the legend brand of bronze;

the size and method of manufacture of bars;

batch number;

designation of this standard;

stamp of technical control.

At the end of bars with diameter more than 35 mm should be embossed: trademark of the manufacturer, designation of alloy grades, batch number, and stamp of technical control. These data allowed to put permanent paint on the side surface of the rod.

5.7. Transportation of bars produced by all kinds of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with cargo carriage regulations applicable to transport of this species.

For goods with length more than 3 mm of the vehicle is determined in accordance with cargo carriage regulations applicable to transport of this species.

5.8. Bars should be stored indoors or under cover protecting them from atmospheric precipitation, in boxes or on shelves, pallets or racks in the absence of contact with moisture. Under specified storage conditions bronze rods consumer properties when stored do not change.
