This standard applies to round, square, hexagonal bars, drawn and extruded round bars and rods of beryllium bronze, used in instrument and mechanical engineering.

1. ASSORTMENT

1.1. The nominal diameters of round drawn bar and nominal diameters of the inscribed circle of the square and hexagonal bars tolerances for them shall be as specified in table.1.

1.3. The roundness of the round bars should not display the sizes of bars for limit deviation for diameter.

1.4. The length of bars made of random length:

1,5−4,0 m — drawn;

1,0−2,5 m — extruded with a diameter of 42 to 75 mm incl.;

0,7−2,0 m — extruded with a diameter from 80 mm to 100 mm incl.

1.5. Allowed bars of random length less than given in claim 1.4, but not shorter than 1 m for bars with diameter up to 40 mm, 0.8 m — for bars with diameter from 40 to 60 mm and 0.5 m, for bars with diameter more than 80 mm in an amount of not more than 15% of the batch weight.

At customer’s request bars high and the increased accuracy produce without small logs.

2. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1. Bars manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in the prescribed manner. The bars are made from bronze brand Brb2 with the chemical composition according to GOST 18175.

2.2. Surface bars should be clean, should not have captivity, sinks, cracks, bubbles, dents, scuffing and scratches.

Allowed local surface defects, not exempting bars at reference sweep for tolerances for diameter.

Allowed traces of the technological lubricant, as well as the color of a tint, local redness and darkening.

2.3. In the kink bars must not have foreign inclusions, delaminations, and voids.

Note. Bars with a diameter of 70 mm and allowed more small point of time. At the request of the consumer the quality of fracture sets according to the samples approved in the established order.

2.4. Bars must be straightened. The local curvature of the bars at 1 m must not exceed the values given in table.3.

The overall curvature of bars should not exceed the works permitted by the local curvature of 1 m for the total length of the rod in meters.

Bars soft straightness are not checked.

2.5. Bars shall be shipped to evenly cut the ends.

Delivery of bars with a diameter of 15 mm and less with the cut ends.

2.6. The bars are made:

soft (tempered);

hard (cold-worked after quenching);

pressed.

2.7. Mechanical properties of bars shall conform to the standards specified in table.4.

2.9. Solid bars (cold drawn) with a diameter of 10 mm or less, intended for the manufacture of springs are tested on the wound.

When testing a winding, the bar should not be cracked and should not delaminate.

2.10. Drawn solid bars with the bend test shall withstand the cold, without showing signs of strain and exfoliation of the bending at 90°.

2.11. At the request of the consumer, the aged microstructure after quenching the samples taken from bars of bronze Brb2 brands must have a uniform distribution of inclusions, ГОСТ 15835-70 Прутки из бериллиевой бронзы. Технические условия (с Изменениями N 1, 2, 3)phases and grain size set forth by the standards agreed to by the parties.

Note. At the request of the consumer, the average grain size should not exceed 50 microns.

2A. ACCEPTANCE RULES

2A.1. The rods take lots. The party must consist of bars of one method of manufacture, one precision manufacturing, one state of the material, the same size and profile and to be issued a document about quality that contains:

trademark or the name and trademark of manufacturer;

the symbol of the rod;

the results of the tests (at the request of the consumer);

batch number;

the weight of the batch.

The weight of the batch shall be not more than 1000 kg.

2A.2. Check the outer surface and control sizes are subjected to each bar of the party.

2A.3. To check the curvature, strength and elongation in the delivery state and after hardening of the dispersion and to test for bent, wound, fracture, hardness, and determination of grain size are taken in two bar or two bunches from the party.

The test winding is carried out at the request of the consumer.

2A.4. To check the chemical composition of the selected two rods, or two bunches from the party. Allowed the manufacturer checks the chemical composition carried out on the sample taken from the molten metal.

2A.5. If unsatisfactory test results of at least one of the indicators, it conducted a re-test at twice the sample taken from the same batch.

The results of repeated tests apply to the entire party.

Allowed the manufacturer to carry out continuous testing of rods.

Sec. 2A. (Added, Rev. N 1).

3. TEST METHODS

3.1. Visual inspection of the bars is carried out without the use of magnifying devices.

3.2. Measurement of diameter and ovality of round bars is carried out in at least two mutually perpendicular directions and the diameter of the inscribed circle of the square and hexagonal bars in any two directions of the same section of a micrometer according to GOST GOST 6507или 4381. Length measurement is carried out metal measuring tape according to GOST 7502*.

3.3. Measurement of the curvature of the test, the wound and fracture are produced on two rods, chosen from the party. Two beams taken from the party, taken by one rod.

Selection of samples for tensile testing and Flexural strength and hardness, grain size and chemical composition is produced from two rods, chosen from the party. Two beams taken from the party, taken by one rod. From each of the two bars take one sample on each trial.

3.1−3.3. (Changed edition, No. 1).

3.4. The curvature of the bars test in the following manner: the rod is placed on the plate. To check the rods make a rigid straightedge according to GOST 8026 1 m long and with a feeler gauge on the other 2−034−225 or metal measuring ruler according to GOST 427 or templates to measure the maximum distance between the line and rod.

Allowed to use other methods and measuring tools, not inferior to the accuracy specified in the standard.

3.5. The tensile test is carried out according to GOST 1497. The selection and preparation of samples for tensile tests carried out according to GOST 24047.

Allowed for rods with cross-sectional area greater than 80 mmГОСТ 15835-70 Прутки из бериллиевой бронзы. Технические условия (с Изменениями N 1, 2, 3)to produce samples with a diameter of 6 mm and 8 mm from the Central part of the rod.

3.4, 3.5. (Changed edition, Rev. N 1, 2).

3.6. To check for metal in the kink bars incised with one or both sides, and then break.

The incision should be made in such a way that the fracture passed through the Central part of the rod. The ends of the rods subjected to the control fracture cut. Examination of the fracture produced without the use of magnifying devices.

3.7. Hardness is measured on the front surface of the rod Brinell (GOST 9012), Vickers (GOST 2999).

3.8. For bending test, selected samples with a length of (150±25) mm each.

Samples of solid rods of diameter 5 to 10 mm bend in Portocolom, and with a diameter of over 10 mm will be turned eccentric to the diameter of 10 mm, leaving one side portocannone.

When bending the sample neophocaena the surface must be exterior.

Hard drawn bars shall withstand a bending through 90° around a mandrel with a radius of curvature equal to twice the diameter of the rod.

The bend test is carried out according to GOST 14019*.

3.9. The test winding is performed by winding 10 turns onto a cylindrical mandrel, the diameter of which should be equal to twice the diameter of the rod.

The inspection of the surface of bars after the bending test, and the winding is produced without the use of magnifying devices.

3.10. Determination of the grain is carried out according to GOST 21073.0, GOST 21073.3. Samples for the determination of grain size taken along the direction of deformation.

3.11. Chemical composition is determined by GOST 20068.1 — 20068.3 GOST, GOST 15027.1 -15027.3 GOST, GOST 15027.5 — GOST 15027.7 or other methods of equal accuracy specified in the standard.

If there is disagreement in assessing the quality of the chemical composition of bars is determined according to GOST 15027.1 — 15027.3 GOST, GOST 15027.5 — 15027.7 GOST and GOST 20068.1 — GOST 20068.3.

Sampling for analyzing the chemical composition — GOST 24321.

4. MARKING, PACKAGING, TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

4.1. Bars with diameter up to 35 mm inclusive tied into bundles weighing not more than 80 kg. Each bundle should consist of at least three bars and should be tied with wire in two turns with a diameter of 1.2 mm according to GOST 3282 or other material according to normative-technical documentation in at least two places, and the bar length over 3 m in at least three places, so as to prevent mutual displacement of bars in bundles, evenly along the length of the beam.

The ends of the wire connected by twisting at least five turns.

Drawn rods with diameter up to 12 mm inclusive package in 1−2 layers in synthetic and non-woven materials, ensure quality safety bars, according to normative-technical documentation and bandage over the packing material wire diameter not less than 1.2 mm according to GOST 3282 in at least two places.

The package needs to be formed into transport packets. Dimensions of packages — according to GOST 24597.

Packaging bundles and individual rods, not bound in bundles, carried out in the churchyard 9557 pallets or without pallets with the use of bars not less than 50 mm with tying wire with diameter at least 2 mm in two turns according to GOST 3282 or tape not less than 0,3х30 mm according to GOST 3560, or by using a sling also packageable wire churchyard 3282 diameter not less than 5 mm with the twist of not less than three turns. The ends of the wire connected by twisting at least five turns of tape to the castle.

Packing of rods, are designed for areas far North and remote areas shall be in accordance with the requirements of GOST 15846*.

4.2. To each bundle of bars shall be attached to the metal or plywood label according to GOST 14192 with the indication of: trademark or name and trademark of the manufacturer, the legend of rods, the lot number, the designation of the present standard, a stamp of technical control.

On the bars with diameter 25−35 mm should be embossed grade and on bars with a diameter of over 35 mm grade of alloy and coated the stamp of technical control.

4.3. Transportation of bars is carried out by all kinds of transport in covered vehicles in accordance with cargo carriage regulations applicable to transport of this species.

Allowed bars associated into bundles weighing not more than 80 kg, transported in standardized containers according to the GOST 20435 or in specialized containers according to normative-technical documentation.

4.4. Transport marking of packages — according to GOST 14192 with the additional application of manipulation sign «Afraid of dampness» and label the batch number in the free from traffic markings.

Transport marking applied by any method stipulated by GOST 14192.

4.5. Bars should be stored in covered rooms, in the conditions excluding mechanical damage, moisture and active chemical substances.

4.6. During storage and transportation of bars shall be protected from mechanical damage, moisture and active chemical reagents.
